Used to have 2 of these sims but ported the number out for 1 of them when I got the texts in November 2022 saying 3g was being turned off. Received a text the other day for my remaining sim to say I was being automatically moved onto a 4g plan. Will receive a new sim in post in June that needs activated otherwise my tmobile sim will carry on but with no ability to use 3g data.
The deal they've offered is ... 24m rolling contract, unlimited minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited data for £1/m!! Also includes EU roaming. Will receive more details in the post when the sim arrives in a few weeks. Half expecting it to be a misprint and actually be £11, £21 per month. We shall see...

I got a letter today also saying unlimited everything for £1pm.

hey guys, just to let you know, giffgaff have just started doing £6 per month, 5g, unlimited calls, unlimited texts, 2gb internet and eu roaming - and no locked in contract.
finally ported my tmobile numbers after 9 years on tmobile due to them ending all our contracts next month. (edited)

Go for the Lebara or lyca. It's under £1 a month. Even 1p

    Was it this one?

    "Dear Customer,

Thanks for placing an order with T-Mobile for the £8 SIM only pack.

There was an error on the shop which meant that your £8 SIM only was advertised as free each month. We will honour this mistake and your SIM will be with you shortly, we have had a lot of orders because of this error so please allow up to 7 days for delivery.

If you need help or advice with any of our products or services please visit t-mobile.co.uk.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused but we look forward to welcoming you as a T-Mobile customer.

    Kind regards,

    T-Mobile

Reasons why this is planned and not a glitch:
    1. Instant increase of customer base by hundreds of thousands. Looks great for the quarterly statements to shareholders.
    2. The amount offered is negligible to their network infrastructure. 500MB data and 250 mins text, they wont even feel it.
    3. There is a good chance you will spend money calling voicemail, customer services, spending data or using minutes outside of your allowance.
    4. After 12 months you will forget to cancel and remain a customer, or you actually like your experience and switch over to them directly.
This is quite simply a win-win mostly for them and we obviously don't mind any freebie on HUKD!

Hahaha.. In-case if I ever need any screenshots, I know whom to ask

Yep, if anybody ever has problems with T-Mobile, PM me. I have a bank full of HD screenshots.

In Windows 8 it's easy you see, you just have to press the WINDOWS + PrntScr button, and it saves them automatically in a folder, no need to mess around with Paint etc.

Damn Tmob just rejected my order for 500 of these. How on earth can that be fair? I've got a Boots store card and only ever go overdrawn once a week.

  8. silverchriz's avatar
i just spoke to the t-mobile web chat and that's what they told me.

Maddox: We have been informed that this is a pricing error, but that we will be honouring any orders placed until the issue has been corrected If you place an order for this product you will receive our standard order confirmation email, along with a separate email confirming that your order has been received and that we will be honouring the pricing

chris: so i dont pay anything for 12 months?

Maddox: Chris it will be free for first month only

chris: so after the first month it's £8 a month for 12 months?

    Maddox: Yes that's right

i wonder how many people will put their spare sims on ebay ?i'd have … i wonder how many people will put their spare sims on ebay ?i'd have thought you'd get a few takers if you advertised something like "guaranteed one year sim only plan" for £40-£50 quid ..

If anyone does that, then they'd be an absolute fool. These are contract SIMs and if resold, the contract holder would be liable for any excess data/voice/MMS/premium rate calls etc.

For info - you can get 'free' voicemail by diverting your unanswered calls using hullomail.com instead of the standard tmobile service.

It uses your inclusive minutes to forward, then you can use data or wifi to listen to them without having to ring up

I'm checking my T-Mobile account for this new SIM and see that:

    Your monthly plan charges
    SIM Only £8 - 12M £6.67
Loyalty discount from your monthly line rental - £6.66
    Monthly charge total £0.01

Given that £6.67+VAT = £8.00. Where is my full £8 discount as mentioned on my order?

Also, regarding 08 numbers are we or aren't we billed? And what is that mysterious £4 discount tickbox?

I've actually checked with T-Mobile this morning as my sister is currently using the free sim. They said that the loyalty discount will be increased to cover any price increase and the contract will remain free for the remainder of the 12 month period.

Me, being a skeptic believes that this is not a pricing error at all, and that's it's an intentional deal to gain customer base.
EE are suffering badly since the merger. Just my opinion

DONT FALL INTO THEIR TRAP!! The contract price can be changed at any time … DONT FALL INTO THEIR TRAP!! The contract price can be changed at any time by them. After the first month you'll be charged £8. If you still want this deal i'd recommend choosing giffgaff instead, £10 a month for unlim. texts, 500 mins and 1GB data, with no long contract, just month by month.THE BIG PHONE COMPANIES ARE RUBBISH!

And any change from £0 to £8pm would be higher than the rate of inflation etc. and thus, you can leave your contract for free...

    Kind of a mute point.

I know the brochure says that, but I still don't believe it to be honest. … I know the brochure says that, but I still don't believe it to be honest. Even landline providers like Sky, BT etc, charge for 0844, 0871 numbers etc, there's no reason why T-Mobile would offer it for free; or as part of your allowance anyway.Even Sky's (Sky Talk Anytime UK) call package for £5 a month, only includes 0845 and 0870 numbers, any other premium 08 number is charged for. I'm sorry it just doesn't add up, if landline providers don't offer it at all (for all 08 numbers), then why would mobile phone operators?I'm not having a go at you personally by the way, I'm just confused.

I understand why you're being a bit sceptical.

The truth is, I've been a Pay Monthly T-Mobile (phone) contract customer since June last year. I have never paid for 08 numbers, even the more-expensive 0844 and 0871 prefixes - despite the nonsensical blurb on the website saying otherwise. Once I checked the PDF tariff brochures, it actually said all 08 numbers were inclusive as part of my allowance. After trialling one call on my first month of the contract, I was ecstatic at the discovery that they are in fact inclusive.

T-Mobile have since removed 08 numbers from allowances as of 30/10/2013 on their (new) phone contracts, but SIM Only tariffs, according to their PDF brochures, still seem to have them included.

I agree it is bizarre for them to include the more expensive 0871 as part of the plan, but at the end of the day, T-Mobile and their parent EE are crazy. Take this deal, for example.

Screenshots proving that I've never paid for an 08 call (from my T-Mobile phone contract SIM, not SIM Only):

well done all who got it,

I got it 2/3 years ago when similar happened (ultd data, 300 mins, 300 texts) £10 per month for free AND £50 quidco !!!
took a battle but got it, a year later discount ended and i was offered £5 a month which i took. however they only gave £2.50 a month discount. I called and spoke and was told would be corrected, they instead added on another £5 a month discount- so i pay £2.50ish a month now for past 2 years.... needles to say i dont bother getting rid or upgrading but use it as a 2nd line and have no landline
for the voicemail, you can dial your own number from another mobile phone, get your voicemail message and press *, then your pin code and can access your messages that way free of charge

They do send multiple warning texts before you meet or exceed your limit. Also, when you do meet the limit, the £1 a day isn't automatically chargeable - you'll be redirected to the T-Zones portal asking you to confirm that you want to purchase the daily internet booster.

I am already a t mobile pay monthly customer. I ordered 3 sims for my sister and my nieces (no its not been greedy) greedy was if i was just ordering them for the sake of it.

Me ordering three sims did not deny you or anyone else from receiving a sim. Its not one of those items that gets out of stock quickly. It was a planned or not error which we did not expect to be honoured.

Anyone that ordered 2 or more is not denying other this deal. The only ones denying this deal are t-mobile.

    Nope. A 2.7℅ increase of £0 is still £0.

It's not £0. The monthly plan is £8 and you are getting £8 worth of discount.

    What about my discount?

If you have any discounts on your account, then these are not affected. We calculate the increase on your original monthly plan charge and then the discount is applied afterwards.

If anyone's looking for a good value (essentially) sim only deal, I came across this cashback deal - works out to be £2.50 month for 24 months on talk-mobile network AND comes with a free Nokia Lumia 530 offering a similar 250 mins, 500MB data, 5000 texts

    Deal in black
    Deal in green
    Deal in orange

And don't forget Quidco/TCB as it is mobiles.co.uk/ that sell the deal.

    Will cashback be honoured?

    As long as:
    a) you follow their cashback requirements (sending in bill # X between Y and Z days etc.)
    b) the firm (mobiles.co.uk in this case) doesn't go bust

It's a risk, but i've personally done at least a dozen of these cashback deals, and have only ever had one (Talkworldonline) go bust and thus not get my cashback.

I also spoke to Kieran this morning at retentions approx 1hr before you, … I also spoke to Kieran this morning at retentions approx 1hr before you, after being transferred to him because I wanted to cancel making the point that other people were being told that their discounts had no expiry date. He explained that this was "non-compliance" by the agents due to the new "Minimum £5/month price rules" introduced by EE some months ago, and that said agents would be dealt with internally! to keep my custom, he offered me the £5.22 retention deal. This being the only offer I have received in the last 15-20 attempts to renew, I promptly snapped his hand off! He also gave me a £2.64 bill credit as a gesture of goodwill for the previous troubles I had been having. To summarise... I WAS extremely happy to receive the £5.22 offer... now though, extremely angry!!! I am going to ring again and request to speak to Kieran again or his manager, demanding someone takes responsibility for the inconsistency in the way some discounts have been set up/applied compared with others, and if that they do not provide me with a non-expiring discount, I shall cancel my contracts under the 14-day cooling off period rules. Totally outraged at this.. totally unacceptable service by EE/T-mobile!!!

I'd suggest phoning them from a different number, sounds like they have it in for you - I spoke to Kieran about 3 minutes after you, he said that he'd throw in a free holiday to the Bahamas and pay me to keep my t-mobile contract as I was such a nice person to deal with compared to the last **** he had on.
