I generally print my ticket out, and just take that with me. Never tried the txt way before, sorry

Ace thanks! Got 4 tickets for Southampton. This film looks absolutely terrible, skeleton dinosaurs chasing Ben Stiller around a museum - a must see! No child will ever want to go to a museum again.

And yes, Serj, you just go up to the ticket collector/checker person like normal and just show them your phone. I've used it many, many times, no need to worry :)
#11
many thanks...was going to go on sunday morning anyway.

#12
Excellent thanks. I'm hoping the kids will enjoy this one
#13
hi. i was just wanting to ask. if you print it out and take it to the cinema, are you guaranteed the places or is it a first come, first served thing?
#14
also have just seen this:

Please bring suitable identification with you
URGENT: PLEASE NOTE Due to piracy concerns there will be security at the cinema who will do a bag search AND store any mobile phones with cameras until the film finishes.

do they actually take your phones?
#15
At some screenings I've been to there have indeed been men at the screen doors taking phones away and giving them back afterwards. I haven't yet been subject to bag searches, only being asked to surrender camera phones.

And yes it is first come first served.
#16
nice spot op got one for 4 people in Coventry.

When I went to see a Borat preview they took my phone, put it in a little plastic bag and gave me a reciept, but I have never had my ID checked at a preview....
#18
tickets aren't technically guaranteed but as long as you sow up a few minutes in advance you should get the number you wanted. All the ones I've been to the cinema is never more than 3/4 full but they generally put you in some backroom screen out the way of paying customers.
#19
Champion cheers, I can't make it as am working overtime, but the Missus and Daughter will be chuffed. Rep+

Yeah I did experience a bit of a groping last time I went to one, but its all good fun, adds to it if anything ;).

Oh and much thanks to the poster! Heat and +rep for you!
#21
Unless phones have become amazing overnight, what sort of picture could you possibly get from a mobile phone camera?

If you can do this, which phones are capable of this?
#22
Thanks for this....FAB !

I've used both text tickets before and printed tickets and to be honest the printed tickets are much less hassle. The text tickets for some reason completely bemuse the cinema staff I've shown them to..but we've still got in.

Anyway, after all that I've still sent for a text ticket this time 'cos my printer isn't working.

Has anyone else had problems completing this transaction???:-( :-(

FYI: have been to one of these screenings before and they did not check ID
#24

#25
Hi, if anyone has any spare tickets for Sheffield I would really love to go.

Many thanks

there are a few that can record prettty good quality. but the capacity is when it becomes a problem. you'd need a 100gb card to be able to record an hour and a half.

the first release that was available for download on the internet of Superman Returns was actually a camera phoned one. the picture was nothing other than vomit and sooooooooo pixelated it was a joke.
#27
100gb? This some mega better than HD camera phone?
#28

They come up quite often. Search the forum for 'cinema tickets' and you'll see :) Most screenings tend to start at 6/6:30pm.

I have been to a screening where as you went in they asked if you had a mobile and without thinking I said yes, and they do indeed take them. On this occasion they took my mobile and put it in a bag that had a number stuck on it and they gave me a ticket with the same number on. At the end of the film I handed over the ticket and got my phone back. In future I wouldn't bother taking my phone with me, as i don't like the idea of handing my phone over and it meant having to queue at the end to get it back.
#31
Thanks M8 got 4 in for Derby!!!
This is a first for me so not quite sure if iv done this right?:santa:

Same happened to me at a showing at the Odeon in Chelmsford.

Got 4 tickets for tomorrow at the Lee Valley Odeon.

Thanks

Just got back .... really good film.

Would recommend seeing it
#35
We really enjoyed this film - thanks for posting this offer up!
#36
good fun film, kids loved it. Thanks

Ricky Gervais is shockingly bad though.... no one laughed at his bits. Cringe worthy.
#37
thanks again, went with some mates and we loved this film (although it was a struggle to get up and to the cinema in time). A real good film to release over Christmas as its one for the whole family to go and see. Agree with the comment above about Ricky Gervais though - shockingly bad
#38
Thanks again AngelUndercover,

I took my 7yr old to see this yesterday and we both enjoyed it.

He particularly liked the bits with the Easter Island statue saying, "Hey Dum Dum, I want Gum Gum". Hehe.
