Do you love football? Do you love travel? If you love either, you will enjoy the film but its more than that. There was a good review on Obsessed with film, which sums this up well:

'In The Hands of the Gods' is an amazing film, I can't put it any more clearly than that. It's not going to be a huge release, but it deserves recognition. The film charts the true story of five young, British freestyle footballers [soccer players to our American friends] who blag a flight to New York and set out with no money and no real plan across the Americas to Argentina in the hope of meeting their hero, Diego Maradona. (Oh, and for those who don't know, football freestyling is performing a series of choreographed tricks on the ball, and let me tell you it really takes some skill!)'

THE STORY:

In the Hands of the Gods is the true story of five young British freestyle footballers' journey across the Americas to Argentina in the hope of meeting their hero, Diego Maradona. This coming-of-age road movie tells the story of a group of young men in pursuit of a lifelong dream.

The group of friends is made up of urban teenagers, most of whom have never been abroad before: a devout Christian, a cheeky scouser, a failed footballer, a pampered teenager and an asylum seeker from Somalia. These boys, ranging from 17 to 22 years old, represent the diversity and attitude of British youth today. For them, Diego Maradona epitomises everything they love about football; he is both the creator of their art and their inspiration during hard times in their lives. Along the way they found that it wasn't just Diego they were searching for, but something inside themselves

With no money for food, accommodation or travel, the freestylers hustle and busk their way from London to Buenos Aires using only their football skills and their charm, often being forced to go hungry and to sleep rough. In the Hands of the Gods is a voyage of adventure and self-discovery that will take these boys far from their homes, on a trip that will change their lives forever

Thanks sharkalos!

Unfortunately not shown anywhere near me.

It's helpful to include the list of participating cinemas in the post to save those like me going through the process just to find it's not showing at a close location.

I've added the list of cinema's to the post (although it says you posted it for some reason :o).

I did the same ;) Sorry im new to posting. Will this appear on the home page? Or does it have to be really hot? Sounds like a decent film...

Weird, because my list of cinemas was posted successfully!

The temperature will need to rise and become hot to appear on the main page!

By clicking the 'edit' button under the deal post. In reality you can only add to a post, rather than strictly editing.
