Perfect for all you bargain hunters!!

Red laser is a bar code scanner that allows you to search for a product by taking a picture of the bar code and then searches online stores to see if its cheaper elsewhere before you purchase it.

Used to cost £1.19 but is now free. Not sure if it's for a limited time only though so be quick.

Link is to the US site but its free on the UK one too.

It rarely finds any prices for products and doesn't seem to do the advertised feature of checking for allergies

Yeah, you can manually input the barcode rather than use a camera like you can on the iPhone.

It's mainly aimed at finding things like books, dvds, CDs, Games etc I find it does a good job with this sort of thing, when it comes to things like groceries, medication etc its pretty useless.

Thank you :)

yes....but when your out shopping, there is hardly any free wifi in supermarkets....so pretty much defeats the object :-)

This has been free for ages due to eBay buying them out, there's an article about it somewhere, I love this app but I love the tesco one even better!

I think he was referring to the fact an iPod touch only has wifi, no cellular ability.

Has been free for a while now so expect it will stay that way. A very impressive app.

I fail to see your point.

Its's free on iphone too, or are you just trying to troll?

I got this for free a while back and found it not to be as good as Pic2shop which usually finds the product whereas Red Laser sometimes doesn't

Never found it to be very good for DVDs due to the poor selection of retailers it compares prices against. The find-DVD app is much better but you can't scan and have type in the title but at least you don't look like staff doing a stock check :D
#24
Thought this had always been free. There are much better free barcode scanners too.

I'm merely pointing out that Android has many free apps (not as many as I was hoping for however) that don't warrant posting, as this is a constant hot deal.

If you use google search it automatically has a barcode scanner on the search engine that does a product search too :)
