Not too sure but you could try Open Office as it does open all MS Office docs and is quite similar.
re: floatable & jamhops - There are always newbies coming online that do not know of these progs. I know quite a few that have been on for years that still pay for bloatware that is covered by tried and tested freeware.
Check out Software Informer from Informer Technology to check all your software for updates and links to them - FREEWARE
It also has a free software of the day app inside it.
You could try re-saving them both, within their individual programs (Works and Word), as an Rich Text Format file (.rtf) instead of the .wps and .doc types that they are defaulted to. The new rtf files could then be merged.
There is also an integral PDF writer in it.
Still have Open Office though.
I don't know about works, but Office will. It can often mess up the formatting though - the reason why I won't use it. If you just want to use it for personal use, and aren't collaborating with anyone or submitting complex files anywhere it's perfect. Anything more advanced and it has the potential to get on your nerves rather quickly!
If you just want software to write letters etc. - you're better off sticking with Wordpad which is already a part of Windows. It's more than adequate for text, and there are tools there for adding pictures etc. as well.
I keep hearing this but what features in MS Office do you actually use which aren't in Open/Libre Office?
OK
Thanks again.
