Proof that we are now as stupid as the Americans.

Don't let your kids put their fingers near hinges!

The Advanced world is dumb. They should recall all cars due to fingers lost after having car doors closed on them.

No common sense left in the world today. Where theres a blame, there is a claim. I blame everyone.

Dear fair enough clough. Thank you for your oberservations which I think were first elucidated by that hero of the people Jeremy Clarkson. I for one like being as stupid as an American if by fitting these I remove even the remotest possibility of chopping my daughters finger off. It is all very well to state that you should keep your child away from the buggy whilst opening it but in the real world, trying to open the thing one handed carrying two bags of shopping with a screaming child in the rain, keeping your darling one at arms length is just not possible EVERY time. I think this u-turn by Maclaren actually demonstrates that British children are every bit as precious as our American cousins and does not in any way highlight any difference in the intelligence of the populations. Now your comment does indicate the latter somewhat.

Is it bad that I ordered one even though I don't have a buggy? :]

Had one for 4 years with no bother but know if I don't order one after this my disastrous toddler will lop his finger off! Thanks for the heads up.

does it include cotton wool for the little one.....i dunno and americans wonder why we laugh at them..had 2 mclarens - one for 4 years and the other 9 years...no probs...we always let the kids out before shutting the pram therefore no risk of kids losing fingers

agreed, too many dumb dumbs in this world.....god help them if they had to go back to the 50's....

in 50's years....we wont be able to travel anywhere if there is one spec of snow.....cars will be driven at no more than 4mph with a man in front with a placard stating "keep clear, motor vehicle moving, danger of death", children will have to wear a suit made from cotton wool and wear a crash helmet at all times, children wont be allowed to play in parks, noone is allowed to run, trains will run ontime
