BTW Nice find Percy
You might want to see who lived with them, what their occupation was, where they were living, what their handwriting looked like, etc.
Census records are released after 100 years, this is the latest to be released. technically it is free, but its hard to access and search through. Once released by the government, it has to be digitised by private companies. A site called Find My Past did this first, about a year ago and have been charging a fortune for it.
However now Ancestry have caught up and offer a fully searchable 1911 Census as well (ie every word has been transcribed onto a database...big job!!)
Libraries in my area (Birmingham) have a subscription to Ancestry, some other constituencies go for Find My Past. Either way you will probably find that this is free at your local library anyway.
As to why its useful....its main purpose is to trace back from who you do know. For example who they lived with, where and what they did. Its incredibly useful to family historians.
The free search should be available on every version of Ancestry, They dont operate like some regional websites ie Google. Im not 100% but id be surprised if this wasnt the case.
having difficulties in finding my relatives, I was born in Portugal, my mum Italian, and my dad american
