Seems like a good deal. Might use it for my texts to Dubai which are normally 50p or some such craziness.8) Heat added.

Hypovalaemic, did you actually try this app? If you look at the FAQ on the website, it looks like its not completely free in a way. Can you please confirm?
#3
WhatsApp is a great app that does this along with Skype for free calls
#4
Havn,t tried yet, but have been told KiK does the same, got no one to text abroad as yet.
#5
I havent used it but i plan to when im away next month. The way ive read it is as follows: when you sign up and start the app its gives you a "new" personal number which you text from. If texting from within the app its free (based on your data policy, most iphone contracts have this within, like mine on vodafone). If you text someone in the uk from spain for example then they will get the text from your "new" number. They can reply but will be charged for an international text... unless they reply from their own heywire app.
#6
Perhaps not wise, since you're sharing other peoples phone numbers with a(nother) third party, I'd expect potential cold calls.
#7
Only in the same way you share phone numbers with Vodafone!

Wow, an exclamation mark from someone who says they've not tried it yet, I'm convinced. Also, why not quote what you're replying to, since that's one of the main reasons for having such functionality.

You have a contract with telecoms provider which legally prevents them from harvesting and contacting the numbers you use.

Have you confirmed that the Ts&Cs are legit? Are they a registered and liscenced UK telecoms company? If not do they operate under the same laws? Are they a trustworthy company?

Careless I have been with my use of quote functionality, or the lack of. Undoubtedly someone's life has been disturbed, or their lack of. Now they're all alone. Till next time.

Thanks for not addressing any of the questions raised in a sensible manner, and posting a flawed meaningless reply, it adds a lot to the thead.

Jeez, a verbal World war between two people discussing a free app for a phone.

A world war between two people? Are you sure you know what a world war is? :P
#14
No, I have absolutely no idea what a World war is. If there ever is one I'll try to concentrate I promise. Get on with your pointless argument about a free app, don't try and drag me into it.

You stated that two people could have a world war. If you know what one is you'd know that isn't possible, yet you posted it anyway, adding no value to the thread.

Ah, I remember now!

The two chaps were Hitler and Churchill.

Perhaps your trolling would be more fun over at 4chan.

Are you the boss here? You sure sound like you think you are, reading all your wordy replies. You sound like a condescending troll in nearly every reply (if not all) you have made in this topic starting with Wow, an exclamation mark from someone who says they've not tried it yet, I'm convinced. Also, why not quote what you're replying to, since that's one of the main reasons for having such functionality.

I shall ignore you, irritating troll. I bet you have to reply, people like you always do as bullying is not easy in real life, so dissecting the opinions of other remote people who can't harm you is the safe form of intimidation you use.

I shall not reply to you again, sort out your revolting way of speaking to people - you really need to.

Cue smartass "I am more intelligent than yow" reply...

I doubt you've read "all" of my replies, if you had you may have learned what the 'quote' functionality is for, since you've neglected to use it or even quotation marks, which would have been the bare minimum of effort. For example, in this thread you could have at least have clicked 'reply to this post' rather than answer individual comments without any reference to which one you're answering.

In some threads I've spent considerable time helping people with technical issues, yet more proof that you've not read "all" of my replies.

I've never claimed to be the boss here, or anywhere else. Sorry if "wordy" replies upset you, some people like to make the effort to communicate properly rather that just pitch in by accusing two people of somehow having a world war, then continuing to troll by mentioning two people involved in a world war, many years ago.

It's clearly you who is trolling here. Read what you posted, are you in any position to dish out advice on how people should speak to others? Or tell people what do to? You seem want to be "the boss", and I don't mean Bruce Springsteen.

Cue smartass "I am more intelligent than yow" reply...

I think you mean you, rather than yow.

This is quite sad, it started off as a thread discussing an app and ended as you can all see...
