Sorry - but the smallprint says 'no photocopies'
#2
This was e-mailed to me yesterday and I printed it out and used it in asda tonight!

Thanks katrb :) It does look very much like a printable voucher, but strange it states no photocopies...
#4
The muppets in asda would accept anything, as long as it hasn't expired they are told to accept it ;)

Lots of printable vouchers say that. A print out is not a photocopy! Doesn't say you can't print it out (multiple times).

Where was it emailed from, just in case they ask?
#6
It was mailed from Cadbury's themselves - I'm on their mailing list.

I'd post the e-mail but it's in my work e-mail. I'll get it on monday and post it here.
#7
Could you post the link to the actual Cadburys webpage please, rather than an imageshack link. Thanks :)

Sorry to be a pain but the same imageshack file was posted on MSE over 4 hours earlier. Apparently over 4000 people have viewed that thread, but only 2 people have said they got the email. I'm sure Cadburys didn't send you an imageshack file so if you have the original link that would be great. I have to ask for this because there are people on MSE where a printout of this voucher is being refused by stores.

thanks very much! voted and rep'd!

Might be worth printing them on descent paper. Thanks to the op, I'll try one round at the shop near me later.

EDIT: Actually I think I'll try my edited version :whistling:

I've removed the image as I've been told it's a bit naughty.

katrb you don't work for Cadbury's do you? It's just a public Cadbury's mailing list anyone can join, but this was sent to your work address? Could you tell us the name of the list or link to it or something?

And did you save the jpg straight from the email like they sent it to you or did you get the MSE link or screenshot it and save it or something? Did it originally have your name in the space?

If it wasn't originally a jpg in the email, you want to save it as png instead when you take a screenshot. Saving as a jpg makes it look like a photocopy and apparently it's similar (the same?) to one in The Sun.

The MSE thread has two links to imageshack (one the same as yours) which have SLIGHTLY different jpg files so I'm guessing people where screenshotting an email.

Did the barcode scan in Asda?

Use decent paper and not claim you printed it from an email? Saving your edited version as a jpg decreased the quality again slightly (save photo pictures as jpg, text pictures as png), you erased parts of some letters and it looks unnatural the way the text flows. What if they refused the coupon from someone else and they see you erased "no photocopies"? Very dodgy.

Sorry guys, I'm getting very worked up over a little bar of chocolate. Thanks for posting katrb.
#12
I don't wok for Cadbury's - LOL I work in a car dealership and have nothing to gain from promoting free bars of chocolate!:giggle:

The e-mail said from 'Cadbury World' and it was just a voucher. I'm tempted to go into work and get the e-mail. I might still!

I handed it over at the Asda checkout and girl just took it off me and put through the negative amount for the chocolate bar.

Didn't mean to sound like I was suggesting a big Cadbury's conspiracy :)

I thought maybe it was an offer sent to employees you were spreading around without authorisation. Think I'll print it off and try it in a couple of shops and report back, but would be good if someone can do one that isn't a horrible jpg first (unless the original really was a horrible jpg).

I think Cadbury's must have a big promotion on at the moment.

I have just been into my local Spar shop and there was a woman dressed up in a cadbury's uniform giving away one standard bar to each Spar customer.

No voucher required, she was just handing them out as you left the shop.

I hope that Cadbury's is not handing out their salmonella contaminated stocks as freebies. Just wondering

Regards,

Saabu.
#16
Hey, speaking of which, is it true that the salmonella scare was all caused by a dodgy batch of Creme Eggs ?

'arf 'arf !!
#17
Although I'm not an employee of Cadburys, there is a huge marketing campaign going on at the moment.

I might be involved with it handing free bars out accross the UK ;)
#18
Hehe at the Creme Eggs joke cracked above and slowly dripping down the page :giggle:

So fordy, you have some to offer in the Freebies forum eh?

:-D

Luckily I get access to the cheapie Cadbury shop in Bournville where the staff prices are just ridiculously cheap.

2 trips a year, one at Easter and one at Christmas.

As Alan Partridge would say - Cashback!

Have nicked into work to get e-mail but can't figure out how to upload a screenshot.

Normally my hubby would help but he's not with me!

If you're still there:

Save it (as a png or bmp instead of jpg if possible)
Go to http://imageshack.us/
Click Browse and choose the file
Click Host it
Copy the direct image link into here
#25
There is two links as I'm a bit thick - can't save the whole thing as one file.

Thanks katrb, I'm sure that'll convince everyone it's real. It's a shame you can only click to get the actual voucher once so you can't get a better pic of it. I'll try printing a few copies (not photocopies :) ) and taking them round some shops tomorrow.
#27
Hi katrb I've removed the image links as they show your name and e-mail address when enlarged.
#28
I've printed mine and will hopefully get it tomorrow...thanks
#29
I have printed some of these vouchers off on best quality on my printer on decent paper. So far this weekend I have got free chocolate in Co-OP, Tesco and Woolworths. The vouchers did not scan in any of these shops but I still got the free chocolate! Will try some more shops next week. :-D
#30
 Yum! Welcome to the forums foofy!!
#31
Thanks Emma. Have been using this site for a while but haven't registered until tonight. Couldn't resist letting everyone know I have had some free chocolate! I like this freebie!

Thanks Rayman - I did think about that but couldn't figure out how to block them out.

Having a really blonde day today - you would never believe I work in IT.

I went to a Spar in Nottingham and they refused it, mainly because it said "no photocopies"
#34
Worked like a Treat (get it Halloween Trick or Treat) in Boots in Victoria Street in london today Yum Yum

Voted Hot:thumbsup:
#35
Excellent find. Questioned about whether or not the print-out was a photocopy, confirmed was printed on an inkjet printer and the voucher for a free Dairymilk Caramel was honoured.

HELP! Have just tried to print off some more of these vouchers but I can't, when you click on the go to deal link at the beginning of the post it comes up with an imageshack page instead of the Cadburys voucher!! Oh no does this mean I can't print any more? I printed off a few the other day and it worked OK but I have now used these vouchers up and wanted to print some more if possible. Thanks.:-(
#37
I'm Pm you with and send you the jpeg
#38
Went to print out the voucher for my daily free chocolate bar, and the link dosen`t seem to work anymore. :-(
#39
It's been removed, as has the original thread on MSE I believe.
#40
Didn't work for me in a local shop.

Worked a treat in Sainsburys and Tesco. :)

I am trying to be good and not eat them but put them in the stockings as a filler.
