Free Eye Test @ Tesco

I was doing the shopping at Tesco in Walkden this morning and they announced that the Opticians were offering free eye tests. I went straight away and was seen there and then. I asked if it was nationwide and they said it was.

They said there is no end date yet, so I would ring up and book an appointment now

Well worth it if you need your eyes checked!

I think it is usually £15

(edit- checked at Bolton and they are offering the same deal)

My sis works for Tesco and to be honest, she says they always announce free eye tests especially at quiet times and if someone hasnt turned up for an appointment.

My daughter had a free eye test at Tesco but they didn't manage to diagnose the prism disorder that she has, which another optician found.

Surely that's the optician rather than Tesco so same could be said anywhere.

but yes these tests have been free for a while and also when i had contacts there my first pair were half price.... so £10 for 2 boxes of disposable lenses and standard eye test and contaxt lens test.

......and clubcard points

i had a test at tesco and they were really pushy to try and get me to order a certain set of frames they also didnt really want to give me my prescription to take away, the presripion said that my right was really really bad and my left was not so good either, in the end they gave me my prescription to take awat but i just didnt feel it was right, so i went to dolland and atchinson and the found that my eye sight was perfectly fine and i didnt even need glasses but they did find i had too much pressure in my right eye and am now being treated for Glaucoma at the age of 23. i feel tesco opticians are rubbish and i would not recomend any of my friends or family to them if i had gone ahead and got the glasses they told me i needed i could have ended up losing my sight

I too felt disatisfied with tesco when i took advantage of a free eye test there - went and paid for an eye test at D&A in the end (where i normally go) and decided i'd rather pay in future (The prescription was slightly different between the two shops)

I had an eye test at Tesco and the Optician said I had a blurred optic disc and I needed to be seen by a specialist straight away. After two weeks of worry I saw a specialist who said there was nothing wrong. I even went back six months later to see the specialist who still found nothing wrong.

who said that?
