Free Copy Of The Economist & Free 1GB USB Stick
a couple of ways you can get this great
little freebie. You can either call 0845 357 8006 and quote code GEG55
or text ECON to 60300 and they will call you back. This was advertised
on a flyer in The Sunday Times.

They will try to get you to sign up for another 12 issues for £1 (for
all 12), but you don't have to take it.

code is GIG55 not GEG55

Just called them and with that offer code you get free issue + memory stick, plus option of further 12 issues for just £1, you are free to cancel anytime. Thought for extra quid was worth it if the magazine is of any use to you..
Nice one! just called and they said that the code is GIG55
confirmed code is GIG55 not GEG55. and 12 issues for £1. it's a weekly so 3 months subs.
Just to clarify. What happens is that you call the number, say you saw the offer in the ST and give the password. They take your postcode & house number. Another £1 (plus your bank account number and sort code) opens up a direct debit agreement and gets you 12 more copies of the economist for a total of £1. If you don't cancel you'll get 12 more copies of the magazine for £1 each and if you still don't cancel, you'll be put on their normal subscription rate

Any idea what that is? Just to save me looking it up! lol
Do you have to provide any payment details to get the free magazine and usb?
I didn't, I didn't have my card on me and said I would ring back after reading the free issue (I might!)
The economist made my politics lectures actually make sense.

Rather enjoyable. Will be taking up this offer!!
lol guy on the line said "it's a good deal but i seem to have to convince you to take up on it" coz i said i have too many mags to finish in a week!
received today but memory stick is already full of non deleteable read only files
They keep hanging up on me when I say i dont want the £1 deal.
I got my call back today. Took the pound deal. Lovely.
I have never received a freebie so quick! THANK YOU OP :)
So is the usb stick usable or not?
I got a bloody book instead of a memory stick today!!!! :@
So is the usb stick usable or not?
The USB stick I received is definitely usable. It has around 960mb free so close enough, and the rest it seems is in a partition which has files such as a sample to read and other non deletable files.

Nice! Can you lend it to me when you done reading it? Lol.
Will swap it for a 1GB memory stick if anyone wants.
Basically a dictionary (ery?) of english language usage?
Beat me to it.

Great deal, Free Economist and 1GB thumb drive, what's not to love!

Also, when I spoke to the customer services rep she told me that they are still running the 12 issues for £1 deal which is excellent. It's normally about £4 an issue.
Oh yeah, the code I had was GIG50
anyone received yet?
I got my second copy of the magazine, but no USB thingy yet
nothing in post yet
The free memory stick is OK but it is full up on arrival and the contents - as far as I can see - can't be deleted. Unless anyone can tell me how to get rid of the contents it is not much use.
