I know this isn't going to be for everyone but living in London usually a day out anywhere can cost a fortune.

You apply for the tickets you want and find out 48 hours (or sooner) before if you have got them. I have seen Britians Got Talent and Saturday Night Takeaway and both times we had a really good laugh and all for free.

You can also apply to be on the shows but I have never done that so can't shed much light on it unfortunately.

Hopefully helps someone :)

I second this. First time I went to see Cats Does Countdown I arrived at the designated arrival time and didn't get in. Luckily I got a priority ticket for the next showing

That's good they gave you priority tickets for the next show. I wasn't aware there was a possibility you may get turned down but I am always early to everything lol :)

For most shows you really need to be there at least an hour before the time on your ticket to be sure of getting in, and for the really big shows you're best to arrive even earlier. There can be a lot of hanging about but it's interesting seeing the filming process. To be fair, it is clearly stated when you apply, and on the tickets, that entrance isn't guaranteed.

i have used this successfully a few times!!

They need to guarantee a full crowd so overcompensate with tickets. Yeah policy generally is priority ticket for a failed entry if full.

Been to see Britain's got talent and X factor several times and never had a problem getting in as we've always turned up early. If you don't mind waiting around for 2-3 hours you'll be pretty sure to get in. If you turn up just before the time on the ticket, then as others have said there's no guarantee you'll get in, but you may be offered priority tickets for another day

Been to see Loose Women. Luckily we had priority tickets as several were turned away.

Try the Lost in TV site - http://www.lostintv.com/
They do some in Manchester. There are '8 out of 10 cats does Countdown' tickets available at the mo. Ninja Warrior was last month in Manchester too.

Even better,if you become a drug addict, whilst gambling away the family fortune, have 5 illegitimate kids and beat them before leaving for good, then pull out all your teeth, apart from the rotten ones, the Jeremy Kyle show will pay for a hotel for the night and you can be a star for the day!oO

sroaudiences is another site that does tickets. Managed to see Big Fat Quiz of Everything a few months ago 8)

Showfilmfirst is worth signing up to as well - managed to win tickets for Massive Attack and offered tickets for another festival this year alone.

You've got to make sure you get in the queue early with these sort of things. I went to a David Mitchell radio programme, saw there was a queue and decided to get a sandwich with my other half. Came back, queued at the back and got told there was no more room.

Not a massive problem as I live in London anyway but still, quite annoying!

Depends what you see. Some shows are utter rubbish/ waste of time
