About this concert

Set up in 1984, YCAT provides a unique stepping stone for exceptional young artists who have the potential for international performing careers. YCAT artists are identified through a rigorous annual audition process. In this third and final round, outstanding young soloists and ensembles, selected from over 100 applicants in the preliminary and semi-final rounds, audition before a distinguished panel of judges.

At a critical time in their development YCAT offers guidance and advice alongside a full artist management service to selected artists for 3-5 years. Current and previous artists include Ian Bostridge (tenor), Joanna MacGregor (piano), Alison Balsom (trumpet), the Belcea and Heath Quartets, O Duo, Leopold String Trio and Adam Walker (flute).

Final round of these annual rigorous auditions to find the best in young international musical talent.
