at the Gateshead showing tonight they were taking peoples camera phones from them for the duration of the film. apparently as it's pre-release for "copyright protection". they had 4 bouncers on the door to the cinema.

i found it all a bit draconian so refused, and was not allowed into the film as a result.

Just went to glasgow showing to find bouncers at the door?!? Its only 3 day before release.
#34
Same in Hull! It was slightly intimidatring lol! then again I'm only 15 and the bouncers were huge lol! I really enjoyed the film and was one of the better films i have seen! :)
#35
There were only 2 bouncers in Cardiff and they just told us to make sure that our phones were switched off I just think that the film company must be hyper sensitive about this film being pirated.

Excuse me you cant call them "bouncers" any more you have to refer to them as "door supervisors" I know this as I took the course last year and it cost me over £400 plus 4 days holidays from my normal day job. Any way they were polite and I didnt see them take anyones phone of them. AGAIN CINEMA ONLY ABOUT 75% full :x Why do people print tickets and not go:x
#37
At Portsmouth the "Door supervisor" was a slight young girl who just asked us to switch our phones off. Cinema was less than half full but was in one of the larger screens when others I have been to have been is the small dingy screen.
#38
Yeah in liverpool there was a bouncer as well, who I caught giggling at my rant about how the screen the showing at was right at the back of the cinema, hidden behind various twisting corridors and almost certainly where they show the porn after closing time.

Oh and the film was little more than a vessel to get Robert Redford back onto the big screen. By the end of it, you just find yourself asking "....so what was the point in any of that?".

I was at Gateshead and it's the norm to have these guys on the doors at *some* of the previews. I don't see it as a problem because I can understand how many people do try and record stuff, seen it with my own eyes.

Really enjoyed the film, thanks again to the OP.

i understand the reasoning for it, i just don't agree with it. it's my phone, and i don't know them from Adam.

not that i condone it, but someone filming a few seconds from a mobile phone is hardly going to become an internet favourite due to the obvious lack of quality (both picture and sound). for that reason, and also for the size of the screen/theatre, it would have made more sense to have one or two folk in the cinema to keep an eye out rather than four on the door (which I thought was a tad excessive to say the least).

nevermind, still a good deal for those who watched it, and i'll be leaving my phone at home for future deals. :)
