Just to let you all know, i have just been to covent garden and they are far from all gone. They dont even have the tickets in the branch yet and are taking names down on a sheet and signing your flier! I have just got mine done and the lady confirmed that will be valid as my ticket for collection. I even phoned up beforehand and asked too.
There were a maximum of 20-25 names on the sheet ahead of me! so thats only a max of 50 gone.
#20
I went to collect tickets at around 3pm today at convent garden and it seems there are only space for about 10 more names on the sheet. So they may be gone by now.

Covent Garden Tickets all gone...

that's funny, i went there Saturday morning (its 2:30am Sunday now) and i put my name down on the list for 4tickets. the manager said they have no tickets there but to bring leaflet and id on the day, my name was the only one on the list!
#22
Saw this deal on a TF site: On my way to pick some up now! (hopefully!)
#23
I went to Covent Garden after work about 5.30pm and they told me that all the Tickets had been handed out in the morning. Hence my post when I got home to save you guys wasting time...

What a Lie!!! from your posts there were never any Tickets...

I'm well peeved!
#24
shahie, you're wrong, they were taking names down yesterday, i personally called them up and they said so, why would they lie you *****.
#25
:-D same thing in Cardiff. They said that the tickets haven't arrived with them yet so they signed the flyer and took our names
#26
Saw this film in Spain, it's incredibly fun and the special effects are stunning, much better than HP5.

He is not wrong. I was there around 5pm and got the same reply he did. I presume from the same guy who worked on the counter.

For all you know you spoke to the toilet cleaner on the phone.

I was there too. Was told only part of the allocated tickets arrived which sold out but was advised to turn up on the day at 6pm to try and get them. Forget that methinks!
#28
Local Zombie - You phoned up and they told you...

I personally went into Covent Garden Odeon cinema on Shaftesbury Avenue and was told my the gentleman behind the counter that the tickets had been handed out in the morning!

He also advised me to turn up before 6pm and I should get a seat.

Please don't tell me that my personal experience was wrong because you spoke to someone on the phone!
#29
shahie, that "someone on the phone" is a personal friend, "the gentleman" at odeon who told you to turn up on the day to get seats was taking bulls*** and before you ask why i couldn't get tickets if i'm so chummy with one of the staff is because I don't feel she needs to risk her job so i can save a couple quid.
#30
Logical_zombie, That's all well and good.

But for you to say my personal experience is 'wrong', in this context can be interpreted as you saying I'm lying... Why would I do that? And Yes, I have taken offence.

I suggest you do not crititise a poster for recounting a personal experience where the retailer/cinema has obviously messed up especially as you were not there to witness such events.

PS. Thank You SecretJedi confirming you had exactly the same experience.

No prob. Logical_zombie is just some troll, bitter not getting some tickets.
#32
shahie i've read through the posts, and i apologise for being a "troll" as 's-jed' has so kindly put it, bitter i am but should have read through others confirming your experience, in my defence it was a long time after my first post that anyone actually came up with a similar story, prior to that everyone had been promised tickets which lead me to call said friend at covent garden, which in turn lead me to believe you were being a selfish and sadistic ***** by putting people off who could otherwise have got tickets. however misunderstanding it seems so sorry, although my reaction was not totally unwarrented at the time with the info i had.
#33
thei can back Shadie and secretjedi's story, because i got there Fri 13th 4pm was told the same.

i also turned up 6pm on the day, managed to get in, it was only 2/3 full if not 3/4 the most.

but what i also did was go there earlier that afternoon, confirming if i could just turn up, then i was told the list, which was full! i explained and explained, managed to get my name on it eventually.

geez...you're kidding me!! I went to covent garden at the weekend and they said sorry, no more tickets, you shoulda come in on friday..pft

Didn't think to turn up yesterday with my edith bowman printout! Kudos to those who did!

What a joke - the cinema staff just spout anything that comes to mind instead of finding out the details.
#35
 WHAT A FILM! Action all the way plus some great comedy lines and moments. :)
We got to the doors at 5.40 for 6pm open. One of the staff was walking along the line checking that you had a confirmation email from them along with the Radio 1 print out( as when we went to pick the tickets up on Sat they did not have any so were taking emal addresses to send the invite to you).If you only had the print out you were told to go to the back of the line and if there was spaces left you would be able to go in. Lots of moans and groans as you would expect but the staff delt with it calmly
