  I thought the Silverstone event wasn't public this year or something like that. I remember the tickets used to be available much earlier than this in the past.

  i was told that there was no race (info from Renault) this year at silverstone for the renault world championship, even the camp sites near (hamilton fields) confirmed this
  
  me and few mates have been to a few of these, great weekends. Although always too much beer on the friday night
  
  If anyone goes camping i recommend the Hamilton Fields £10 per person per night,

  All info on the web points to there only being Formula Renault 3.5 Series on this year at Silverstone.

  There will not be an event this year,Renault are saying that due to logistic issues and the Olympics,they do not plan to hold the Silverstone event-I have been the past 2 years,and had a great time-I can't see this happening!

  Doubt there will be free tickets as Formula Renault 3.5 is piggybacking onto the World Endurance Chapionship round, it is not a World Series by Renault event, there won't be any Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup, Megane Trophy etc.
  Tickets for the WEC event at silverstone cost £15-£35.

  There is no World Series by Renault in the UK this year. I have confirmed this with Renualt UK personally and was told that although there is no World Series in the UK this year, there is a chance to catch two Formula Renault 3.5 championship which has been added as a support race to the FIA World Endurance Championship which is at Silverstone. Tickets are available from http://www.silverstone.co.uk/events/FIA-World-Endurance-Championship/ for £35 for the weekend.
  
  The likely confusion about this matter is that the WSR website lists Silverstone as being on despite it only being the Formula Renault 3.5 series and not a full WSR event like previous years.

  still dont get why people camp when hotels are about same or less - then you add the camping equipment cost, stupid dicks that make loads of noise, rain, cold, no facilities like a bath (shower if you are lucky) - just dont see the appeal

  Hopefully they will see lots of people will miss this and the economic climate improves so they put it on next year..
