TVCatchup Beta – FREE
Direct Link In 1st comment.
Far and away our favourite app for streaming TV in general is TVCatchup. It’s still in beta, which means it’s constantly being updated and isn’t available on the Android Market just yet. To get it you’ll need to head to http://www.tvcatchup.com/android.html on your Android device and click the download link. Find your downloads and open the TVCb32.apk file to install it onto your device.

So much scorn from ignorant people - this is not the website, it is a NEW beta app - and very good it is too. Hot

It's quite a lot. Around 100-200MB. I always use it on WiFi only.

Indeed, just like the HotUKDeals mobile site which is also far better than the Android app.

Would people think a 6mb connection would be fast enough for this? I tried it last night, and although sound stayed in sync fine, the video would go a bit blocky and jump every now and then!!! :( I know my connection is quick enough, it's not even high quality video!!! :p

Not working on My hp Touchpad ( running andriod ) , say " the version you are attempting to run is out of date, please download the current version.thank you ", can't see any other version on the page.

You need to be using the latest CyanogenMod 9 alpha 2 release (Ice Cream Sandwich). Then this beta CatchUpTV app will work fine.

Thanks OP, d/loaded and installed on the S2

Cheers!

Good but why is it called "catchup" if they're offering live TV only

The initially were going to offer catch up tv but for some reason either technical or legal they were unable to offer that service!

The app is far better than the website version .. no need to register and login at least. Hated having to go find my login info everytime I did a reset or clear on browser. Works well :-)
#28
This worked anyway on your phone, just visiting the site, but I guess the app has it's features. eg, less overhead usage from the browser.

Are you on ICS? It crashes mine. I'm on ICS.

Didn't work at first, but then I found this page which shows how to set the correct settings for Android - http://forums.tvcatchup.com/showthread.php?6614-Settings-for-Android

Hope it helps someone!

Edit - After trying to load the program I get the error - 'playback has ended 0xfffffc14' and can't find much on the help forums - I have tried to uninstall/install with no effect.

UPDATE - Works fine on a different wireless network, so must be something in the others' firewall blocking it

Anyone have any ideas?
