"Because newer is not always better"

This website is a godsend to me - all the old software that you ever downloaded in beta version, or back when it was free, you can now find here. Very useful if you've had to change computers and lost a great program from 4 years ago, or you hate the new version of something (grrrr msn...)

I personally use this site for old WinZip, WS_FTP and Daemon Tools, but there's lots of useful stuff!

My Norton 2010 goes crazy when I visit this site.

Many of the programs have trojans and other malicious code attached....

Please do not use.

Thanks anyways for the post, however I had to vote cold because of the threats it causes :(

This site has been around for years. I remember when my Itunes ******ed up, i stumbled across this and installed a previous version that worked. Must say, it is good if you lose anything, or want a particular old version.. But most people would prefer the up-to-date versions of software
WinZip? Get 7-Zip it's loads better and still free.
#5 is another one - and its never screwed up my internet security
its only me is another one - and its never screwed up my internet security

Yh I like File Hippo, looks safer, has a good rep and I've never had any problems... :w00t:

Just saying that the site posted above alerted my Norton... and therefore I prefer to be safe rather than sorry!!!

Once again thanks

Norton flags this up as an unsafe site red alert
And according to McAfee, safe:

As for Norton:

All the viruses are found in P2P programs which isn't surprising in the least.
Yeah I've been downloading programs from oldversion for years without any problems. But then I don't download stuff that isn't supposed to be free, only old versions of programs that used to be free in their beta modes, so the likelyhood of trojans is less.
