This deal has limited time, presumably until the barriers are fixed, so get yourself down to London Victoria as soon as possible for this incredible deal!

Wow, do you mean to tell me that I can actually take a **** without them taking one in return?

Deal of the year.

Voted hot - but this is an opportunity for a London megathread about free loos (those with medical this is worth more than spending a penny).

So my favourite are:
A good place near Covent Garden / Oxford Street / Tottenham Court Road / Leicester Square - find Cambridge Street / Denmark Street bus stop and find Foyles Book Shop - there is one on the 5th floor

For near St Pauls - walk east onto a road called New Change (there are posh cars parked on it always) and find an escalator going down. It's a shopping centre and at the end there are some loos.

TFL Toilet Map is a handy bookmark:
http://content.tfl.gov.uk/toilets-map.pdf

Red Icon = Toilets past barrier (so in away you have to pay)
Black Icon = Toilets before barrier (may still require your small change to enter)
Mixed Red/Black Icon = Discrimination e.g. West Harrow Station (Met Line) - Free for Men, Women have to pay.

That's assuming you want to use it while passing from the outside rather than the inside. Although to be fair, the one time my mother needed the loo, they let my her out and back in without her needing to use her Oyster.

Great for having a shave and cleaning your pits.

Is this really a deal? oO

I guess it's because of the Southern train strike. No trains = no passengers = no bums on seats! Handy if you are caught short in the area though.

I still do not understand why they need to charge customers - if required they should build these toilets inside the gated area to prevent misuse. Alternatively staff can check if a customer has a valid ticket then allow them.
#27
About time this became free, the tube drivers take the p*** most of the time surprised they have not started striking again to ransom the city and double their pay.

But really, this is a good thing, as too many people were not using the toilet -not the elderly but the young and drunk! It should save on the cleaning bills for tfL
#28
Is this because the cleaners will be on strike?

I had a friend who worked at Waterloo station when toilet charges were introduced. He'd occasionally have to stand at the barriers for several hours and solve problems that occurred (the turnstile would jam, coins would get stuck in the machine, etc.). The charges were originally introduced to cover maintenance and cleaning costs. There were concerns about drug users injecting in the cubicles, graffiti artists spray painting the walls and homeless people using the facilities to wash themselves in the morning, but use by other non-traveling customers wasn't a concern.

"Splash out"... I see what you did there.

What year did London start charging fees to use the Loos ?
#33
I hate paying to use the loo especially at stations when I'm paying a fortune to ride the train
#34
I always use the free toilet in Wetherspoons at Victoria if I'm too desperate to wait until I get on the actual train!
#35
I'm not sure if you have been in the mens, maybe they are treating customers worse by having every toilet clogged over the weekend

When it's fixed , you could walk couple 100m to victoria coach where it's only 30p! Bargain saving 20p change!

Is this some sort of compensation for Southern Rail passengers?!

What does this have to do with tube drivers and TFL?

This toilet is in the National Rail station, nothing to do with them. Most LU toilets are free.

I can honestly say I've never seen a toilet in an underground station, and I've been to many.

I was just going to spend a penny oO

This sounds suspicious to me. Lure us in with monumentous free pees, wait for Southern to screw up, then... hit us with inflated peeing prices.... (_;)
