Nice One !!! Thank You

could be ok for a one off but dont know how much they charge for renewal domain fees and add-on domains or transfer fees but this maybe ok if you have no website but we have loads of these cheap or DIY websites brought to us that have simply cost the owner money as they have brought it no money to their business. Sometimes its a false economy but maybe of use to someone.

By domain name, I assume they mean 'www.zymic.com/mydomain'. They'd lose too much money giving away '.co.uk's and '.com's, surely.
#9
Hmm i wonder does it support wordpress.

It does, but you have to install it yourself. (same for Joomla and Drupal)
One thing to be aware of - it's only web hosting, no email accounts are included in the free offering.

Brilliant find. Just registered and it's looking good so far!

It is one of their sub-domains that is on offer, so their advertisement is somewhat misleading. The choices are 99k.org, zzl.org, zxq.net, zymichost.com and clanteam.com, so you must have http://sitename.99k.org/ has an example.

I would only want to use the space for hosting images and videos, which their terms and conditions say is not allowed. You must use it for a website.

No good for me.

thanks for link will check it out ...

I think this is brilliant, and thank you very much Mafuzzer.

just created this
http://skiclan.clanteam.com
seems a bit slow, but for free, it's ok. (actually it is VERY slow, but VERY free aswell (_;))
You can create your dodgy looking http://sitename.99k.org/ and then have your proper dns name point to your free website. Should work fine.

They've also got free templates to get you started if required.

Zymic has always been quick! Been using it for 3 months :D
#20
anamc60: ulmb certainly is faster, just created the same website on both ulmb and zymic and ulmb was faster to ftp and to serve the website back.
http://zuppo.ulmb.com/
http://zuppo.clanteam.com/

and now I have 2 free websites - time to get something to eat !

Thanks!

#23

managed to get wordpress up and running by following the tutorial and creating an sql database. Not an expert at all but this was relatively straight forward - thanks!
#25
certainly is an easy, and cheap, way of setting up a website, and it doesn't need to be a basic website, can be as complex as you want it to be. Just need to be aware of the limited bandwidth, which is fine for most small sites.
#26
How do I use my own domain?
#27
seems like a cracking deal
#28
Hi - I really want to set up a little website for my band. To be honest we wont need to put much on the site - just basic info about what we do etc and then maybe post a few music files and links.

I have never done anything like this and will take a look at it over the weekend but if anyone has a Dummies Guide or would hold my hand in trying to set it up I;d love them forever!!! heh! heh!

As I say, all we really wanna do is have basic details and update it with our gig listing.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!
