#5
last time they done this the films were all repeats or real old stuff so wasnt that good a deal
#6
We still have a sky box although we are on Virgin now. Does this mean we just have to switch on to get the extra channels or do we have to apply?

Did you see the one where Gazpacho spent all their money so - halfway through - they couldn't afford the animators so it cut to just the voice artists who went and washed cars to get money to pay the animators... ?

No.
#13
Well if that's supposed to be a push to get more people to subscribe to Sky after being wowed by the delights I'd say it's a pretty spectacular own goal...

Free is free - have basic plus Eurosport so even if we get 1 sports match and a film out of it then saves on streaming/trip to Blockbuster!
#18
So how do you get this pass? I have Sky with all of the packages apart from Sports.
I'm looking around on the website but can't see anything.
Someone throw me a bone please haha
#19

My first instinct was no, as if you record things from the movie channels then have movies turned off, you can't watch them. But as these programs will be shown on sky 3, I'm unsure how they can do it, so maybe it will work.

no im afraid. i had the sports and when i rang up to cancel them the wifey from sky said that if i had anything from the sports recoreded onto the hd it would be gone once the package had been removed.
#27
Nice, thanks!
#28
Presume this is for Virgin customers who get Sky channels?

Yes, that was my first thought, but these programs are being shown on sky 3, which is a basic channel.

The pacific looks amazing on sat night.
This is the reason they are putting it free for the weekend, so you watch the first two series and get hooked and subscribe to sky movies.......
noooo i cant watch it I dont need sky movies :D
also brotherhood is really good
#31
Its Free, what is their to moan about?
#32
I just want to explain this offer better as a lot of people seem confused.

Sky are putting premium programmes on Sky 3. Sky 3 has always been free but the programmes are normally very old repeats. For the weekend, they'll get some of the best programmes from Sky Movies, Sky Sports, Sky 1 etc...

The free weekend is available on Freeview, Freesat, BT Vision, Sky & Virgin (basically any platform that receives Sky 3.

It's well worth watching the Pacific. It really is a fantastic show.
#33
I'll be recording The Pacific and hoping I can watch it later (better things to do on a Sat night, lol)

At least this time they are showing a couple of decent programs to try and entice people in.

good deal

When we had the free-movies-for-3-months deal, turned out the Sky+ box would refuse to play ones we'd recorded after the deal was up, so if you record stuff fom this deal you may have similar trouble unless you dump the recording off to somewhere else. Or maybe they're being less strict this time.

But as I pointed out, it's easy for Sky to stop you watching those as you no longer subscribe to that channel, but with this the selection of programs are being shown on Sky3, which is a basic channel, so unsure how it would work.

Don't quote me on it, or rely on it, but I think the programs will be available to watch afterwards.
#37
When Sky did this a few months ago they put on the I Am Legend film, which I recorded onto Sky+ and watched it weeks later and all I had to do was enter my Sky pin and I was able to watch it even though I have never subscribed to their movie package.

So my guess would be that anything you record whilst on Sky3 you will be able to watch after the free weekend pass.

No and No, Doubt they will ever "give" away a premier league match. Perhaps a low table match or a league match but not a potential title decider.
