Good stuff. Already a VM customer. :-)
Speeds are at 20 mb/s( upload AND download) so its blistering fast.

In regards to paying, it is currently free for everyone and after the olympics will remain free for Virgin customers while others would have to pay a certain amount(Yet to be announced).

Your speeds vary in between journeys(from what tech journalists have reported) but at the stations the speeds are quiet fast when by the bottom of the stairs.
I was using this on Wednesday and I was impressed with the speed. The ads aren't too frequent either, which is good.
I remember trying this in Victoria station last month or so and it was super fast 3x faster than my home broadband.

Perfect for watching redtube on the go, thanks op.
Sounds good, but not too sure how useful it is on a tube journey.
Only drawback is you cannot access video!! such as Youtube!! I faced plenty of time even on different devices!! although much more faster for browsing websites and other applications!! :-)

No it won't. Virgin have said that VirginMedia customers will be able to pay to add access to the tube WiFi to their existing bundle.

this is pretty old news - been available for a while now. 3 or 4 weeks ish.

annoyingly they re-direct your first web request to their holding page every time you connect at each station. Makes refreshing train times a ball ache, especially when you only get 30 secs of connectivity.
Good stuff, I think they should make their train wifi free to VM customers now ;)
