Anyone thinking this is good must know nothing about homeopathy.
Homeopathy is complete snake oil.
It does not work beyond placebo.

If you read this book, and get convinced by its claims, you or your family might end up dead from not seeking real medical treatment.

Here's all you need to know about homeopathy, also for free. But with facts, which are probably sorely lacking in the homeopathy book:

There are many arguments for and against. Personally I have used and have had some good results we have used this on our son for simple ailments rather than pump him full of drugs. I'm not saying we would only use this type, but if it works then great!

There may well be arguments for and against, but that doesn't mean they are of equal weight or validity. I'm glad you have had success with your son's ailments, but you are deluding yourself if you think the non-scientific mumbo-jumbo that is homeopathy had anything to do with it

Voted cold.

Homeopathic tests have been repeatedly proven to offer no tangible improvement over placebos.

While Wikipedia is obviously of mixed quality, the article is as good a start-off point as any for reading into clinical trials of homeopathy:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homeopathy#Research_on_medical_effectiveness

... or just google around the subject.

Jeezeypeeps answered you better than I, but I will also note something.

I have also done the same as you (ie. nothing at all) when faced with simple ailments, and I also got better. It wasn't the homeopathy which worked. It was the waiting to get better. The body heals itself quite well with simple stuff.

Magic water doesn't help. I'm not having a go at you mr_deals. I assume you don't know what homeopathy really is. Hopefully you will after reading the links provided, and you'll understand.

well i used ot have tonsilz, not a really good thing, but got rid of them through homoeopathic medicine rather than going for the operation, moreover, its not that everything takes real long time to heal in homeopthay, there are somethings that really go fast too i.e. you get results in minutes, not quoting somebody but my personnel experiences,
i have been using it's medication for years, the main thing is that you need a good pracitioner, cz learning homeopathy is easy than practicing it while for Alopathy its vice versa, e.g for an headache there a 100 no. of medicine, i.e. differenet for every person and type of headache and reason....................

no offences, just an elaboration

and the best thing is the prescription from a homoepath rather taking the advertised medicines from different companies for just making money with least effectiveness, (remeber: its easy to learn homoepathy but difficult to practice it)

ik_6451, homeopathy is just a placebo. We know this for a fact, based on the physical impossibility of the claims of homeopaths, and the studies which show it's no better than a placebo.

If you believe homeopathy actually works it's because either :
1. You don't really know what it is.
or
2. You believe in magic.

Take a look at the link I gave in my first post, and wikipedia, and see for yourself.

The effectiveness of homeopathy is not a matter of opinion. It's a matter of fact. And it's a fact that it is useless. Any effect you've seen is probably a result of not realising you'd get better on your own, plus the placebo effect.

Sorry, it's true. Don't feel bad. People all around the world believe in things like faith healers and reiki for the same reasons.

Sorry, I had to stop reading after that bit as I nearly died laughing. Seriously though, if that's true you need to alert the medical profession; you really can't keep that kind of miraculous event to yourself; think of all the others that could be helped. Your cure needs to be researched and used for the good of humanity....

Lots of views here....some for...most against.
If I seem to get results from it then great. I have never restricted treatment to only this type of treatment. I also see doctors and take what they prescribe at times. I just keep all my options open I'm not going to discount this type of medicine but I like others do have my reservations. I can't explain why I seem to get results from it....I do seem to get better quicker than taking nothing. That's it....

mr_deals, it seems you're not in much danger of taking it too seriously and ending up dead, and you can afford the pills, so that's good :)

Keep taking it, although you'd get the exact same result with cheaper pills, like Tic Tacs for instance. I'd recommend a pack of those next time you feel inclined. They'll give you the same placebo effect you're getting now, but they also taste nice.

Please do me a favour though, and don't recommend homeopathy to anyone else. The more recommendations it gets, the greater the number of people who will get sick or die, or spend money they can't afford because of it. If you think I'm over-reacting, check out this link first:

Flawed logic. You can't both be taking something and not taking something so you have no way to make the comparison.

Fail ;-)

Another site that had looked at Homeopathy is
http://www.stargoss.co.uk/badhomeopathy

Homeopathy is 100% placebo

Don't worry, I have never recommended this type of medicine. I have used it but as I said I wouldn't restrict myself so there's no worry of me ending up dead. I only wanted to thank the person for recommending the book. It seems there are very strong views against this so I'll leave it there.

Just one last thing........ There is not flawed logic in my statment. Maybe I'm not the best at explaining so here goes.

Let me explain.... I suffer from Meniere's disease. And have used various types of medicine. I have found that when I take the drugs prescribed (stemitil) at the point of attack then I tend to be knocked out for most of the day. Horrible!! But the vertigo goes. If I take nothing when I get an attack, the attack will in due course subside but takes time, and I feel awful throughout. When I take homeopathic tablets then I have noticed a decrease in the time to me feeling better. They 'work' for me.
Now I am in no way telling anyone to do what I have done. I now feel that by writing this I am going to have most of you lot against me. I am only explaining in greater detail why I initially wrote ".I do seem to get better quicker than taking nothing."

I would not take this form of treatment for any major life threatening illness!!! Maybe I didn't make that clear.

I'm quite sure this is true. You are experiencing benefits from the homeopathy, no doubt about that. But, the benefits aren't due to any real physical reaction from the homeopathic pills themselves. Other factors are at play here, which are real enough, but just not physical, and no different than you'd get from taking tic tacs (if you'd a similar monetary investment and belief in them as homeopathy.)

You should probably stop listening to me, because the more you believe me, the less your pills are going to work :)

OK...I'm sticking to tic tacs!!!!!:whistling:

As I said, you need the same monetary investment to get the same results.

I'll give you my bank details where you can deposit the difference between the homeopathy and tic tacs!
