Amazing that people take this up. I wouldn't trust a word a dealership says they won't give you free check they will tell you things are wrong. I went in to get heating repaired a week after a new MOT, they told me I needed to spend over a grand on my car and said it wouldn't pass an mot, i didn't tell them I had one a week ago from a good reputable garage.

lol that's absolute madness. I suppose it depends on the dealership. I don't have a renault my local is really good, it helps if you get to know the staff

The dealers are only as good as their mechanics. My clio had problems with the electronic accelerator pedal, they said they would replace the module first then the wiring loom if that didn't cure it first. I also needed a cambelt change, £50 for diagnostics and £1500 for the repair of a the module and cambelt. I took it to a local specialist who replaced the loom first as there was a common problem of wires getting pinched and shorting, also did the cambelt for £600 in total. Would have been over £2000 at the dealer as the loom would have been extra. Crooks

I wouldnt trust this if u go to arnold clark i work for them and trust me if arnold clark aint making money from a free check u wont get it collected thats a fact (unless the garage has no work in and the service manager is actually decent which is rare)

I don't trust dealerships after they lied to me and told me my zafira needed work when it didn't. tried to skank me out of £1000. these thieves are in Derby pentagon. avoid.
#21
told they can't pick it up because it o ly takes 20 minutes

Had the check-up done yesterday on my old Scenic at Renault Wirral. Everything OK and no problems indicated :) . Car washed too!

Unfortunately, the central Renault website people hadn't informed the dealership that I was booked-in (and when reservation found, it was down as an Engine Diagnostic @ £49.99 - which I declined!) but they honoured the free 'Health Check'.

Many thanks for posting the freebie!

Did this last time round for their 'summer check up' and lo and behold - two main light bulbs needed replacing when the car came out (which they wouldn't let you see again either in the workshop). They also stuck chewing gum to the air filter which they broke, which now needs placing.

Main dealership garages, especially Renault, tend to be shysters in my experience.

Oh yeah Arnold clark are so great that when I purchased a car from them the milage was 20thousands more than advertised, after phoning and phoning after 2 months they decided to give me 600 back, then they never repaired the electrics.....So who can u trust these days ???..

I was tempted to book my scenic in but seeing so many negative comments I don't think I'm going to bother

The check up on my 2003 Scenic was done by a main dealer and all OK (I took mine in, didn't ask for collection & delivery).

I mentioned (#23) that the centralised on-line booking unit hadn't properly informed the dealership that they'd booked my car in. Dealership handled it OK, though. (Perhaps if booking it in, check the day before to make sure the local people know to expect it). It's free anyway :)
