I was watching this week's Gadget Show & one of the Top 5 travel apps was this nifty utility. Using your phone's camera you point at any Spanish text and it will translate the words to English right before your eyes.

The price shown for it was £5.99. I went to check it out in iTunes, only to find that it's currently free. I don't know how long it will remain so though, so grab it quick!

The free demo version out a little while ago is freaky. You just pass the camera over text/print and it just reverses the spelling. Struggles with non-standardised fonts, but generally speaking, if the Spanish version is now free, it could be quite useful.

This is the demo version. The language packs are still in app purchases.

it looks like the basic system is free but you have to buy the language packs for £5.99 each i.e. eng-Spanish = £5.99 & then Span - Eng = £5.99 aswell

so possibly not as good as it seems!!!

great app-not really free tho-you still have to purchase each language pack

Downloaded then deleted when I realised that to actually use this app you have to purchase extra downloads for £5.99. I have lasted this long in the world of not knowing what a menu reads while on holiday, by just pointing to the dodgy pictures of oil swilled steak and chips or full English that I will carry on regardless!

Or just STAYCASION! :)

Not really "free"

My bad - hadn't realised it was just the demo version.
