There's a story that when the Maya Indians of Guatemala have worries, they tell them to worry people then put them under their pillow at night. By morning the worry people have taken their worries away.
Beeb have 1200 sets of worry people, especially made for you by Mayan Indians, to give away.

I work with children who have been through difficult early life experiences and I have to say these are brilliant!
I have a few of my own which I leave with my youngsters and they can be a source of comfort if explained how they can be used.

Voted hot!

pepemia - If mine ever arrives I'll send it to you!! (In fact, might look around and get all my old dolls n toys to you as well if I get the chance - I'm a big girl now so I don't play with em anymore :giggle: ) (they're well kept not scruffy so no worries) I dunno if they'll help but....well ya never know. Also saying a prayer for the kids, bless em.

awww, poor baby

me too, sentimental value.....or in my case I'm a damn hoarder (woah...get your mind outta the gutter...thats only on friday nights:giggle: )

Yup, so many happy times with those books :) I hate getting rid of anything, but books? It was torture! Other stuff is just difficult!
#26
Thank you very much!

pepemia - I saw these in the fairtrade shop in Birmingham. I think it was called Evolution. They are great for the younger age group, preferably 5 - 9. They are a great opening talking point for your weekly/fortnightly sessions.
Most of my children keep them under their pillow or in a place where they consider to be 'safe'. I suggested under the pillow as a lot of the children have thoughts coming into their heads when they go to bed and its quiet. It's easy for them to slip their hand under the pillow.
