Can you not just join up anymore?

When it first came out you basically got unlimited invites to give to people, that not the case anymore?
#7

This doesn't do the same thing as Windows Media Player. Spotify and WMP are for different tasks:

Windows Media Player is for organising and accessing the music on your own computer.

Spotify gives you access to a vast library of music on the Internet that you can stream to your computer on-demand for free, at the cost of having to listen to an advert every so often. It doesn't organise or access the music on your computer.
Isn't that similar to We7 or do you get to keep this stuff.

whats the advantage with invites? Its free to join anyway right?

Yes, it's broadly similar in concept to We7 but with some notable differences. You can set Spotify to play continously without having made a playlist; I don't believe that's possible on We7. Additionally, you can download the Spotify application and run it in the background as opposed to having to have your browser open for We7: I would find it easy to accidentally close the We7 browser tab!

I haven't much experience on We7, however; I'm willing to stand corrected if someone has information to the contrary.

Seems like you can't just sign up now and its by invite only.

Yeah I signed up when Spotify was first finding its feet and that was free, now you've got to receive an invite or find one of the sneaky back-doors that they tend to leave open.

Totally spiffing!

Thanks

thank you!!!

I prefer We7 but I grabbed an account anyway so cheers.

We7 has less adverts and with more plays you can accumulate ad-free days, which is nice.

Cheers! Got the Premium account myself but this is always good to give to friends as I only get 2 invites a month.

Shame the streaming quality is bloody awful.

It most definitely isn't. You might want to check your internet connection.

I will say however, the adverts are starting to annoy. At first you'd get one once an hour if you were unlucky, now it's almost every 3 or 4 songs. Still, not bad for a free!!!

Oh it most definitely is. You might want to check your ears

It's 256kbps for the Free account which isn't too bad unless you are an Audiophile, Im sure most people wouldn't use the Free account or Spotify at all if that was the case.

The Premium account streams in 320kbps which is better, although Im sure you are one of those 'Lossless' kind of guys in which case Spotify isn't for you.

my ears are absolutely fine thanks. Complaining about 256k on a free service is a tiny bit silly
