Get Your Name On Honda's F1 Car For FREE!

Visit My Earth Dream today and get your name on Hondas RA107 Formula 1 car as driven by Jensen Button and Rubens Barrichello.

Previously, you had to make a donation to the My Earth Dream charity to get your name on the car, but now you can pick your spot on the livery for free. Of course, you can still choose to make a donation if you wish, as i did.

I had an email today to let me know that my name will be on the car as of this weekends French Grand Prix.

A lovely gift for any F1 fan that wont cost the earth!

Hi, Thanks For That, I Put My Brother In Laws Name On The Car, As He Was A Big Grand Prix Fan, And Loved Jenson Button, Sadly He Died Of Cancer In 2004, And Thought It A Good Gesture To Put His Name On Jensons Car, He Would Have Really Loved That... So Thanks Once Again!!!....

This year, our car will race to raise awareness of environmental issues and to encourage people everywhere to make a difference to the world around them.

Sorry, born cynic. The end doesn't justify the means, at least, not in my book.

Thanks Andy

I just done this but I'm just wondering will my name actually be on the car?

And will it be so small I can't see it?

if they say your name will be on it then i would think that would be the case, also i think personally they would put your name in 12" letters because your "special", only kidding, there are a lot of names to go on these cars so yes it will be small but hopefully a nice poster will be produced so everyone can see their own names, lots of paper involved, not forgetting the carbons, lets all get pro-active

the site does say it will be in 4pt.

Yeah!

Let's all celebrate not having to give money to charity!

Hi all,

Thanks for the positive responses! In asnwer to peoples questions, your name will be 4pt size. You can open a Word doc and change the size to see for yourself how big that is.

Its basically so you can say that your name is on the car, rather than actually being able to see it on TV. Remember sponsors would pay millions for just a few square inches of ad space, so it works out pretty good.

Up close you shouldnt have a problem reading it.

Yeah!

You can still donate if you wish-i did, however some of us may already give to a select few charities, or may have children who want their name on the car, but dont have a credit or debit card.

Just seems a bit odd that it promotes conservation and to that end uses an F1 car that will get about 3mpg...... What message does that give? Do as I say, not as I do maybe?
#21
Yeah, these F1 cars will only do 3MPG but in the grand scheme of things that not really allot is it. I think if general road users switched to cleaner cars then a significant difference would be made, if they replaced twenty Formula 1 cars with twenty hybrid cars what difference would it make?

Plus the general public wouldnt notice any difference really, yet the racing would be worsened in my opinion.

Depends on how you look at it. Each of the cars in the French GP will use approx 65 gallons of fuel on the race. Assuming they're boring and don't smash up ;-). I dare say the average 'house car' could run for 6 months on that amount of fuel. I know mine could and i'm not exactly light footed. All I see this as is a cunning marketing plan by Honda, who lets be honest, make cars that are VERY popular with boy/girl racers who in turn race around wasting even more of these resources that this is supposedly trying to get us to use less of.

By the way I would just like to say i'm NOT a tree hugger and I don't really care how many mpg they get, just trying to make a point:thumbsup:

I would say possibly, but Honda announced this before the F1 season even started which was when i signed up.

Nice find though jklondon, repped.

I vowed to never do the ironing again. Now I just have to tell my girlfriend.

Well i've tried 3 names and on each email there is no confirmation that it will actually be on the car. I guess it's just a ramdom bit of luck if yur name is selected to go on the car.

i put my name down and it says u will get a e-mail that was at 8pm lat night still no e-mail :-(
#28
Save water and dont do the dishes...just buy new ones, put my dads and my name on the site
#29
Yeah Steve, your name will appear on the digital car shortly, and then they will email you to let you know when your name will be on the car. This usually takes a while.

Think it's far too late to get any names entered today onto the real F1 car for the French Grand Prix as it;s taking place this weekend.
Honda are however changing the paintwork one more time this season so fingers crossed you might get on one of the two cars by the Japanese race.
Only just over 2000 more spaces left to enter.

I put my mums name on it, she died in May 2003 from cancer.
Thanks op, nice opportunity :)
#39
Great find! I've put my name on and my dads who died suddenly aged 47 in 1997. He was a F1 fan and got me interested in it and I now love it too. Fingers crossed that we make it onto the car and for the same race.
