Paint.NET is free image and photo editing software for computers that run Windows. It features an intuitive and innovative user interface with support for layers, unlimited undo, special effects, and a wide variety of useful and powerful tools. An active and growing online community provides friendly help, tutorials, and plugins.

This has probably been posted before, but I have just found it today and it seems pretty good. I'm guessing it's something similar to photoshop but a free version.

using gimp at the moment, if like me you can't be bothered to wait for photoshop to load or install!
Used to use, and for free you can't go wrong :)
Own photoshop and illustrator but this looks quite tidy for a freebie going to give it a go thanks :)
gr8 heat added thnx
heat and rep added! thanks x
Thanx for the post will try this
Paint.NET not as powerful, but much easier to use than GIMP.
I can also recommend Photo filtre free version. I very quick to start up photo editing program. Does all the usual stuff:
Great :)
saw this on Click...... t'is no Photoshop though :|
Very good piece of software that's easy for novices to use. Remember it's free, by all means compare it to Photoshop but remember that Photoshop costs roughly £400 and Adobe gets away with charging that because there isn't anything else out there that's better. Whatever your idea of better is.

Using Picasa 3 - it's very good, easy to use too and free too!
Live long and prosper, cheers.
Same here. GIMP is much better to use.
