Giveaway of the Day - DRM Removal

This is free software available to download and install free for one day only.

In a nutshell it means you can play protected songs on any PC or player.

The software means that if you download songs and files from I-Tunes or other sites that have DRM (digital rights management) you can use this to wipe the DRM.

I-Tunes songs are generally restricted so they can only be played on ipods and other Apple products. This software gives you the freedom to choose. Yay!

So we measure legality by if it could 'kill someone'?

I think it is - the software itself is definitely legal as for stripping away DRM - they say it's 100% legal and there's no law I'm aware of that says you can't remove the DRM code I-Tunes slaps on their downloads. Still - some prefer to be a Sunday driver. :pirate:

yes we do wooden top

some of us just prefer to stay within the law, beit speeding or stealing or killing.

I'm still not convinced this is legal - the software maybe, but using it may not be. I believe legal procedures are in place to stop illegal downloading

This has nothing to do with illegal downloading.

It's to do with legally downloaded files that have DRM on them.

Whereas reverse engineering software or pirating music is of course illegal - removing DRM code isn't - at least that's the current state of US and UK law as I understand it - if you know different I'd be keen to be enlightened.
