Free Wi-Fi for 30 minutes
You’ve told us you love having Wi-Fi when you stay but that you don’t like paying when you’re only using it occasionally. Well, we’ve listened to you and now you can check your emails, search the web and update your Facebook status without paying a penny. Wi-Fi is free for 30 minutes, every day, at all our hotels. You can even stagger your half hour across the day by stopping and starting as often as you need.
It couldn’t be easier. To log on, simply turn on your computer or mobile device, set your wireless network to ‘Premier Inn’ and follow the on-screen instructions.
If you’ve used your free half hour but need more time online, we’ve seriously cut our prices. You can buy additional block sessions, depending on how long, or how frequently, you’ll be staying with us. Your time begins when you first log-on and expires at the end of the period. If you don’t have a Wi-Fi mobile device, or a laptop, you’ll find Internet Desks in some of our hotels. These cost £1 for 20 minutes.
Unlimited access is just £3 for 24 hours.
A full week’s access is just £10.
And if you’re a regular guest you can get a month’s Wi-Fi for £20 or a year’s access for £125.
Access is available anywhere within our hotels
Easy to use and quick to access
You can use your Wi-Fi code in any of our hotels
Your purchased time can be shared between two devices, but not at the same time
There is no device limit during your free 30 minutes

I can live with flakey if it is free, but when you are paying for a service (past the 30 minutes in this case), no matter how minimal the cost then you expect better, especially if a free provider is doing it better :)
You can even get free data for a year on tmobile for £10 top up payg. As tmobile use three masts and also orange you get 3G coverage pretty much everywhere.
Worst case without special deals it's £1 per day.
In my opinion wifi should be free everywhere, just block all non essential communication like p2p and leeching.
