I prefer Spotify personally, but this looks okay as well.

Looks good.... if legal...

Any idea when it'll be available on Symbian phones?

It's on at http://mobile.grooveshark.com/symbian but not sure if you need a subscription - I just tried on my N97 but it said my device isn't supported yet!

yeah... I saw that link but no symbian phones appear to be supported!

Just went to grooveshark, had a "drive-by" downloader pretending to download antiviral software to "protect" my pc.

Took a few cancels to stop it from running.

Now I am going to have to scan my macnhine with AV and Spybot again, possibly use Housecall as well, to see what they were attempting to do.

I mention this in case others notice the same behaviour. It may be coincidence that it happened just as I visited the "go to deal" link.

Grooveshark is brilliant.

Legit and actually licenced by EMI in the states (unlike Spotify)
Has much more variety.

The interface isnt as slick, but it will get there, i use both services. but i have a feeling i will use grooveshark more once more features are put in.

Yes I noticed that Spotify doesn't have Pink Floyd albums. But Grooveshark doesn't have any either - unless there's something that I'm not doing right? I am searching under "Pink Floyd" and I'm seeing no usable results apart from one track called "Echoes part one". The same is true of The Beatles.

Nah - I will stick with Spotify. I have also read that most of the Grooveshark music is uploaded by users from their hard drives rather than, like Spotify, provided by record companies so I reckon music is going to be taken off for copyright issues rather than added. http://www.wired.com/epicenter/2009/10/emi-drops-suit-against-grooveshark-music-service-licenses-it-instead/

I can't advise about the "drive-by download" because I can't see anything wrong with the website when loading it from Firefox with Adblock.
