I'll tell you without looking that you have the wrong headlight bulbs, front discs and pads are close to life so suggest replacing them. Rear brakes also need looking at. The engine isn't running at 100% efficiency so could do with a tune. As its winter, maybe change the coolant and the engine oil, filter and spark plugs.

I found it very useful last year and they topped up the washer bottle fluid and didn't try and sell me anything, they were just happy to give a good cystomer service (Leicester) and yes I do go back and buy things. Friendly staff.

Looking at what they check for free you could save yourself time and petrol driving there and do it yourself at home it's not difficult

so you wasted an hour of your time to save a quid on some screenwash.

I value my time as a bit more than that.

indeed, if you cant do even the most basic checks you shouldn't even be driving, technically they are checks you should and are legally obliged to do before every drive to ensure your car is in a roadworthy state.

The way they fitted a mate's CD changer, I doubt they'd know which end of a car to check

Actually no. I was passing anyway and it took only minutes. Not everyone finds it easy to do for various reasons. So it wasn't wasted time for me.

Good deal if your local halfrauds has competent staff. I work nearby my local one and I've witnessed them struggle (and give up, often) with the "included fitting" on even the simplest stuff... windscreen wipers, light bulbs. Yet to see them successfully install a baby seat, that's just a step too far.
