Over a quarter of the local population is classed as "Moderate"? Eeek!

BFN,

fp.

[EDIT]: Ah... divide by the number of years the ASBOs were issued in (eight)... phew! Not so bad after all(-ish).

Hmmm... but those that expire in that period are not taken into account, though.

Does this percentage actually mean anything?

Why don't they make an app for the amount of iphone users in a location, then you know where not to go to avoid having to put up with a load of t*ats

Population 231900
ASBO's 1808

How do you get 26.9% out of that?

Use Google to find out how this result might be obtained.

An example of how complex it is is just one of the links I liiked at in answer to the question "pbs asb perceptions":

How is the target measured? The British Crime Survey (BCS) measures % levels of perceived anti-social behaviour from responses to questions on seven individual anti-social behaviour strands:

noisy neighbours or loud parties;
teenagers hanging around on the streets;
rubbish or litter lying around;
vandalism, graffiti and other deliberate damage to property;
people using or dealing drugs;
people being drunk or rowdy in public places;
abandoned or burnt-out cars.

Perceptions of anti-social behaviour are measured using a scale based on answers to the seven questions as follows: ‘very big problem’, ‘fairly big problem’, ‘not a very big problem’ and ‘not a problem at all’

To access a more localised perception of anti-social behaviour CLG’s Place Based Survey asks similar questions for the 7 strands as the BCS.

You do not just divide the number of people by the number of Asbo's, it is a result of several surveys by the likes of YouGov and other surveys.

Maths and English not your strong point then. It's over an 8 year period that you're reffering to.

Ah... I see. Divide the number of ASBO's by 8 and that's 26.9% of the population.....errrrr no wait.... 226 isn't 26.9% of 231900, and thats not how you spell referring.

Maths and English not your strong point then:whistling:

Thanks to Mateypeeps for a more coherent answer.
