All too often some members vote cold without an explanation!

Have they read the book?

Are they aware of the medical benefits?

Do they drink alcohol?

Are they ignorant and classify all drugs as the same?

It's all relative to quantity!

Knowledge is strength!

don't forget to mention that this is a peice of media designed to put people off weed, it may not mention the benifits....

Now we're getting somewhere! At last a possible reason why.

I haven't voted because I haven't read the book so I couldn't possibly forget to mention that this is a piece of media designed to put people off.

With my previous post I was simply thinking about the possibilities why some members would vote cold. Your post is one possibility.

Exactly it retropolis - I can't see or understand how people can vote cold on something they have not read.
At least explain your actions :(
#11
I think most of the cold voters saw the word cannabis and voted cold without even reading the first post
#12
I personally wouldn't order a leaflet on cannabis.

Me neither, but I just didnt put any temp on - since I didnt really look at what it is about, since I wasnt sending off for it
#14
does it tell you where to get it? ;)
#15
might make some good roach
#16
for info
The roach is put in the end of the spliff that will make contact with your mouth. It's designed to do two things

Firstly it separates your lips from the tobacco. This means that you won't get the taste of tar and bitterness. Secondly, it gives you the shape of the joint. Every joint stems from the roach, which should be firm and rigid.

It's a little warm at the moment, currently 12.6 °.

I'm completely neutral about weed. I'm not for or against it. I'm not sitting on the fence about it, I'm aware of the positive and negative aspects of cannabis. The leaflet & guide are obviously on the neg side so perhaps the earlier cold votes came from members who feel it may not mention the benefits.

My issue with the leaflet is how they qualify someone to be a 'regular cannabis user' What is regular? I hope this is explained in the leaflet!
#18
I am not sure this is the right place for this info.

I appreciate you want to help people but there are thousands of govt leaflets / booklets issued which provide v. useful info on lots of things and are availble free.

It's not a deal or a freebie

I was in Amsterdam last week - our country has it totally wrong !

Not once do you see violence like in our alcohol fueled streets - many cultures from all over the world mix & chat over a cake & spliff. You don't even have to use tobacco (pipe or pure grass spliff, also known as a reefer).

Alcohol & certain prescription drugs are proven to be a lot more dangerous than cannabis.

Don't get me wrong, I don't smoke this very often (several times per annum) - but most people don't know all the facts & categorise it with other drugs such as Heroin, Ecstasy, Cocaine etc

Voted hot. If you have pre-teen or teen kids, it always helps to be aware of these things.Signs and symptoms of drug misuse are something every parent should have to hand or access to.
Some of these leaflets explain things in easy terms which are easy to understand. They also provide useful telephone numbers if you need advice too.
Alternatively, go to:

 Agree

But wot's it all got to do with HUKD...,where is the deal :w00t:

I know we often go off topic in threads but this one was way off to begin with :whistling:

Know what you're saying iglimpse but who knows, someone could order this leaflet purely for curiosity sake, with little thought and read it and discard it.
Imagine then, weeks or months down the line, their teen starts 'using'.

The info in the leaflet could make the difference between that kid going down the right path or the wrong path BECAUSE OF the info it provided.

In this instance, what difference does it make if it should or shouldn't have been posted? It's free and it's more useful than 80% of the freebies we all rush for.
Hope this doesn't offend:)
#26
Yes, I agree. We should all know as much as possible about everything so that we are well informed when teens experience anything in life...it's not very realistic is it?

You would need a very large storage area to have all this free info that is available e.g.
http://www.durexchange.com/resources/index.php

http://www.healthfirst.org.uk/documents/lc_leaflet_list.pdf

Not sure people would be v. pleased with me here if I posted these as "Deals"

Sorry to say but in most cases of the activities teens could get up to - drugs / sex etc, you would be the last to know. Thats's why it is such a problem area.

We should probably have a separate area for HUKD...ethical HUKD where we could all vote on how hot problem areas are. It's the reality stuff of life

Give it a rest iglimpse! :whistling: It's obviously not a deal, it's a freebie! I'm sure some members as well as myself didn't know the leaflet & guide was available so what better place to post it. Becksdawe's post is currently 21.6 °

This post may help some so why do you discriminate? Yes, we all know the forum is called HotUKDeals but freebies do get posted on this forum all of which are not 'hot deals' as such. There are so many so called 'non-deals' which get posted here that get members approval.

Perhaps the 'Go to deal' link button is inappropriately named for this but you can use the filters to access what you want and what you don't want.
#28
The reason I posted this is as follows - and if I had thought it would not have been worthwhile to at least one person then I wouldn't of bothered.

If this helps at least ONE person then it is worth posting.

iglimpse - I can totally understand where you are coming from though. At the end of the people will vote - hot, cold, warm or not at all. Thats fine. The purpose of this was to hopefully help at least one person.
It's obviously not a deal, it's a freebie! [/quote]

:giggle: Stretching things a bit far to say it's a freebie. It's as free as all the other advice on here...and the internet

:? Suggest it might have been better posted as a new thread in miscellaneous. That would have aired the subject better.

Sorry I don't agree, it is free, it was posted on the Freebies Section. What more do you want? Please leave others to decide if the info. is useful or not!
