Hi moderators, I hope this post is okay - I just wanted to answer a few questions / comments

>Why would they want us to lower our bills so lowering their income? Just to save the earth?

It genuinely is about saving water, the less is wasted (say because some one leaves the taps running when cleaning their teeth) the less has to be extracted from rivers each day, and in turn we lower the cost, I can't deny there will be price rises, but they'll be lower rises.

ALSO, if you're using less HOT water, then you're using less energy to heat it, so you save money that way as well, which is nice.
>>save a flush - just put 2 1pt milk bottles filled with water in the cistern

yup, or a brick, but to be fair you probably dont have room to get them into your cistern

showersave/tap inserts - just don't turn the tap on full

It's not as simple as that, these *aerate* the water, so you get the same effective flow,

>>shower timer - just have shorter showers

Yeah, I told my kids that, didnt help ;-) (also, for a laugh fellers, tell your wife she only has 4 minutes to wash her hair...)

>>what about southern water? / welsh water

We don't work with all water companies - most of them though -, the ones we don't work with may work with other partners, so check out their own websites (or tell them you'd like them to work with us - if enough people tell them, then I'm sure they'll partake)

doesn't make up for the £18 my water bills gone up by this year.

You bill has gone up because of 'freebies' just like these. Lots of companies are making a shed load of money giving out these freebies and installing insulation etc. You are paying for their profits and freebies through increased bills.

COLD, i feel like stilling from the water companies, and running their profits into the ground, killing jobs and ultimately the economy, damn, this thread might be responsible for the next global crisis.

Why would they want us to lower our bills so lowering their income? Just to save the earth?
its to save waste of water. but im probably wasting my time telling you that.

well i used one of these so called water saving devices, installed correctly and funnily enought a week later my toilet leaked and had to be replaced - concidence, maybe caused by the device, who knows but the toilet had been faultless for 4 years - seems to much of a coincidence to me - yeh they can stick their stupid energy saving rubbish

aren't a lot of these products pointless?

save a flush - just put 2 1pt milk bottles filled with water in the cistern
showersave/tap inserts - just don't turn the tap on full
shower timer - just have shorter showers

not voted either way (nothing available from my water company), but this in itself seems like more wastage than the water they are claiming to save

Yes you make a valid point. It's true you can do all these things but unfortunately for a lot of people its hard to break a habit. I praise companies doing things to reduce waste and lower unwanted energy usage. The less everyone uses the more there will be for the growing nation. Believe it or not water companies want everyone to use less as believe it or not water is not an unlimited supply so we have to do what we can.

they are all useless but they have to offer these as part of the governments green initiative. They arent free at all as the water companies just put the cost of them on to our water bills so we all pay in the end.
