you have to activate it with the key that you get somewhere from the file and options I think.

Office 2010 stopped working for me, keeps asking for re-installation - works after it re-installs.

Been through the site, nowhere does it say it's a trial:thinking::thinking::thinking:

Does the Beta version of Office 2010 expire after certain time?

The beta version of Office 2010 will expire in October 2010. Users can choose to download the trial or buy the full version of Office 2010 at that time.

Been running the Beta for a month or so, works great. I really like the new print (preview) screen - it's ingenious!

Expires in Oct.

Think this is really good at least for 9 months! :)

Have some heat and rep for a good find!

Anyone who isn't running a business and just wants an office suite for general home use, i suggest downloading Open Office. It's 100% free and does almost everything MS office does.

Open Office is excellent :)

Although I don't mean to turn this into an argument, but Office 2007 at least is far superior to open office in many ways, however if I didn't already have microsoft office and didnt want to pay a lot of money for a licence, open office is certainly a great product, especially for free!

Theres no doubting Open Office's strengths given that it is completely free. However Office 2010 is a much better Office suite and is also completly free for the next 9 months albeit as a beta. I believe that when office 2020 is officialy released, there will also be a starter version that will come free with new PC's/laptops. I think it will only include Word & Excel and you will be stuck with Microsoft advertising encouraging you to upgrade. For many of us it will be all we need so I suspect most will be happy with that over Open Office.

I personally did use Open Office but found issues when sending of CV with compatibility and even changing format some companies could not open the file.

Downloaded this Beta Version of 2010 and it works great albeit it its very slow to open up the page. I say go for it especially if like me you didnt have Office beforehand.

wow! 2010 seems to be about twice as slow as 2007 on my PC!

outlook alone takes 15 seconds to load (2007 was sub 1 second).

More MS bloatware!

Outlook 2010 opens within 2 seconds for me.

Please remember that this is a Beta version, some (read lots) of odd behaviour has to be expected.

Did notice that there aren't that many new features for the day to day user in word... although I like publisher whole redesign
