Microsoft Skydrive - add storage to you ipad for free..

  Just be aware that though you can install this on your mobile device you will not be able to install the Skydrive program on your XP computer. Apparently the Windows program is only for Windows 7 & 8. The only option for XP users is to use the online version, which I think is a bit inconvenient. Microsoft claim that that they are looking into supporting XP, but I doubt they will.

  But you can just use it online without installing anything, also there are 3rd party software that let you map a drive to it in XP.

  I use Skydrive and Dropbox... Dropbox has a much better package (IMO) but like someone said the extra space can come in handy some times

  They reduced it down to 7GB, they also sent a email out to people with existing accounts saying something along the lines of "we are reducing it, but if you click here you won't have to worry" so I'm not sure if you can still get 25GB as a new sign up now, but people who had it were given a fair chance to keep it at 25GB for free.

  No. There is no way to get music onto an ipad other than with itunes. It may let you streem your stored MP3s, but I doubt it as that will directly compete with Apple's itunes match service so they may find a way to remove apps that do that.

  if only someone had invented a way of putting lots of disk space into a small flat thing about the size of your fingernail, which goes into a small slot on the side of a tablet or phone, then you could add more storage to your ipad/phone/pod.

  I can play tracks stored on dropbox via iPad app but as you say no way to add those to the music app.

  There is a good app that watches a folder. Anything you put in there goes into SkyDrive.

  This is free, you get more storage then dropbox and google drive. I have 25gb, I find it to be just as good as dropbox for syncing files, and it has better office support for online editing.
  
  I think the storage options are cheaper then both dropbox and google if you need extra space.
  
  Oh, and yes it has an OSX app.

  There are several apps that get music onto you're iPad. I use polkast on my ipad from my zyxel nsa310 which has 2tb drive in it.. It streams and stores any file accessed, locally on the device for playing when I want. Best using it over wifi as sending a blu ray rip over hspda works but a) it's slow b) it uses up a fair chunk of my 3gb per month tmobile allowance.
  Seeing as I can access that from anywhere i have polkast installed i.e.work pc, ipod touch 4th gen, iPad 3rd gen and android phone then these deals aren't for me as I essentially have a cloud service with this

  Amazon Cloud Player does that for free, excellent App for iPad or iPhone
