Local Transport Plan Partners in Tyne and Wear, together with colleagues in South East Northumberland have just released a series of six new cycle maps (both electronically and in paper format) covering the five districts of Tyne and Wear (Gateshead, Newcastle, Sunderland, South Tyneside and North Tyneside) and the South East Northumberland area. The new maps replace the old Tyneside cycle map and have been designed to be much more user friendly.

The maps aim to raise awareness and encourage cycling in the area; they show the entire local road and rail network, on and off-road cycle routes, places of interest, crossing points, cycle shops and cycle parking. And when you're on foot, they double as a handy street map!

If you wish to receive a new North Tyneside map please use the contact points below stating your name and address, and I will be happy to post a copy out to you.

I emailed off for them and they all posted maps back to me in about a week.
