Following various accidents with over excited aunts, and those who cant seem to hold onto there controller, Nintendo are now offering up to 4 replacement straps for each Wii owner. The straps are thicker at the end which loops through the contoller and should get through even the best power drive.

You can order online from Nintendo's site, you will need your Wii serial number (on bottom of console) at hand.

You have to be crazy to break the strap, its pretty secure. Still, i'm happy to recieve anything free from Nintendo (after the £1,000's I have spent they owe me something). BTW why can I only enter a six digit postcode on their site?

Cant order, unable to fit my postcode in :(
#4
yeah same problem when i ordered.. i wouldnt worry put in as many digits as possible, postcodes do matter but you will still get them just a little slower.

Very useful for those that have one :santa: Thanks for this :santa:

The Wii's and Wii Play packs being shipped now are coming with the newer straps so you may be lucky, but nothing wrong with having spares for when they get a bit dirty:santa:

thats not quite true about new ones having the new straps. i got my wii on monday, and a wii play on firday and both came with the thinner, older strap.

If you mean make up a serial number, well...

1. the number is about 15 letters and numbers long, and seems random.
2. Of course if you did find a working code, I dont think its a good idea to nick replacement straps meant for someone elses console.. :viking:

I'm sure many people will though - see the O2 free credit thread where people are clearly happy to boast of nicking other peoples credit.
#13
I think you've made the common mistake of putting a space in you're postcode
#14
Lol you dont need a new one, just dont throw them, how thick can you get? (I have one so not guessing it's pretty hard)

The original strap got through safety and product testing without an issue, its user error

Have had the Wii now since just before Christmas, wife made me put it back in the box and wrap it for myself for Christmas day.........women!

At the moment I just have the sports disc that came with it, but it is absolute great.

My two girls, aged 6 and 3, love it and the youngest is a great wee boxer :-D

The control system works very well, but I have noticed that there seems to be an optimum distance from the sensor bar.

Also great that it logs onto my wireless network without any additional hardware.

My advice is go get one, you'll not regret it. It's a whole new gaming experience and is especially good when played with the family or a group of people, anywhere from 3 - 103.

Also, if you do purchase one, get another Wii remote controller. It's a real pain having to constantly swap the controller in multiple player games, as you have to ensure that the wrist strap is secured.

My son got a Wii yesterday and it came with the original thinner strap so Nintendo aren't shipping them with the new straps yet it seems.
