Nokia: Earn Rewards... just for using your phone!

Got the link to this website today and thought I'd add it here. Not sure if anyone has already added this, so I'm sorry in advance if this is the case.

I'm not completely certain how the reawrds work, it mentions vouchers for high street stores and UK attractions. A £10 welcome bonus and £10 every 3 months there after. I know it's not for everyone, as not everyone will have a compatible phone, but worth mentioning, even if just a few of you act on it :o)

Seen link above now.

Also just for those sceptics around (as this does sound a little like a scam) I can confirm that Nielsen are a very reputable company.

love this question on their servey

"Just for the sake of risk and sensation, I occasionally like to do something dangerous or forbidden"
#4
Just registered and it sent them this info via a text msg to 84000

SP360 CMD=REGISTER;ID=4;IMEI=3548XXXXXXXXXX;SIM=23420;MCC=234;MNC=20

I think the MCC is the country code = UK, the MNC is the Network = Three

Not sure about the SP360, maybe Symbian series 60?

IMEI is obviously the IMEI of my phone

Mine did the same, I think I also got charged 10p not sure though, as I don't see where I could have used 10p elsewhere.

Did this a while back with same company and have had my vouchers.
You download a app which uses internet to send data about how you use your phone.

BEWARE those who don't have internet included.

#12
Looks interesting, may give this a go...cheers

I have an e63 but am on PAYG with no Internet Plan - I would like to do this on my home Wifi, does it ask when it needs to connect or does it just take data randomly, I only want to do this via wifi so don't want any nasty data charge surprises coming off my balance.
#14
So what sort of vouchers do you get?

Am I gonna get something worthwhile or just junk vouchers that you can pick up free on the net anyway?
#15
wow,excellent ,heat added.

You get the 'high street' ones with loads of places to use them
#17
Thanks,

Just installed it on my N97, will report back once I get some money.
#18
Same. Done this. Got an email about 12hours later confirming.

Will report back in a month on receipt of my first voucher.

Thanks. Tried it but won't work on my Nokia E61.

Works on my e71!

However, be careful as when I opened up the app after install and checked the settings, it was defaulted to "yes" for the "upload while roaming" setting. You should default this to no!

The default setting on my E71 was set to ''No'' for the roaming upload.

Hmm I thought it sounded pretty good until I read what they actually monitor.

Q. What type of data is being collected?
A. The Meter software measures general usage of your phone. For example, we collect information on:
the type, name, use and installation of applications and games
the address of the websites you visit
the date and duration of the websites you visit
the date, time and duration of phone calls, but not details on the phone numbers you call or receive calls from
the date and time you send text/picture messages to or receive text/picture messages from
the date, time, type and name of Bluetooth devices used with your phone
the date and time when USB devices are connected to your phone
battery levels, charger states, alarm usage, profile changes
information on network traffic, use of WLAN and use of GPS
the network performance of your phone, including signal quality readings and information on failed calls

None of that bothers me. It should only bother you if you have something to hide...

Thanks

strange N96 is not in the list.
#26
Looks like its possibly a new version of Smart:M Mobile Panel....I used to be a member till it was taken over by an American outfit. I always got paid when it was Smart:M Mobile Panel, then when Mobile Expression took over, they stopped paying me.

As this is Nielsen, it should not be a problem (incidentally I also received the email from Nokia)
#27
Cheers OP have installed!

The app that is installed is called 360Meter, so I guess that it is a reference to that.

Just to add to this...

I've been doing this for a few months now and I've had no problems.

Just received my second load of £10 vouchers. I'm very pleased and find it cool that I'm being paid to use my phone lol
#30
Sounds good on paper, but what and who get to see info about your use? Just these or do they distribute it?

Call me paranoid, but...

And what if you have downloaded games on your phone from the million and one sites that give em out for nothing?

Is the world really going to end in 2012?
#31
Anyone got a voucher yet? I did/am doing this, nothing showing in account yet for me.
#32
Nah I have not received anything. But the other day I cahnged SIM on my phone and the 360 program prompt me if I wanted to keep tracking with the new SIM. So the program is working.

I will give it another month if I don't get anything I will uninstall the program
#33
I have contacted them and have received a prompt reply stating that the first vouchers will be dispatched soon.
