Panda Cloud Antivirus Free

unique, lightweight, and easy to use anti-virus solution from the reputable Panda Security company. If your current anti-virus program is causing your computer's performance to dip, try this for size. Cloud Antivirus works on the concept of "cloud computing" and as such aims to do much of its processing "in the cloud" (that's via remote servers rather than your computer).

Had this installed a couple of months ago but something went wrong with it, it disabled itself, changed the language to French and wouldn't let me uninstall it. The exact same thing happened to 2 friends around the same time so must have been a software problem.

I use avast these days, much more reliable

I have used Avast for many years but no AV is perfect; about six months ago I got hit by a 'dud' update - Avast decided any program was a virus and proceeded to trash the operating system, firewall and about everything else. One machine took around eight hours to repair and the second only four (yes I know I should have shelled out on a disk imaging tool ;-)).

I switched to Panda on one machine around 2 months back when it became infected with a particularly nasty rootkit I had to go for a clean install so decided to try and mix things up a little. Incidentally Avast was oblivious to the infection, it had been disabled by the virus but appeared to be running / updating perfectly normally. I'd definitely recommend using a 2nd AV like Malwarebytes if you suspect a problem on your PC as although Avast (having been crippled) couldn't detect any problems when I ran Malwarebytes it showed dozens of infections.

I haven't had any problems with Panda yet. Definitely lightweight - you don't get that horrible sluggishness on startup while Avast does it's updates.

using this on my new Windows7 after a recomendation from a friend, its very lightweight (in terms of using up resources) and so far havent had any problems. I also use Malwarebytes too just to find anything else but so far all has been good. For free you cant complain at all with Panda Cloud
