Paragon Backup & Recovery 14 Compact is a simple and powerful backup and recovery solution to secure stand-alone Windows desktops and laptops. It allows users to quickly back up image of almost everything from files, folders, or the operating system, to the entire content of a hard drive, and at same time recover/restore backup copy again to your drive when necessary.
Various backup options available, you can plan your regular backup, you can run full, differential or incremental backups, the latter only archive changes since the last full sector-based image, thus considerably saving the backup storage space. Backup files can be saved to local partitions, external storage, optical media (CD, DVD, Blu-ray), network shares, FTP servers, virtual containers (pVHD, VHD, VMDK), and even a secured hidden partition on your drive, available only through this software! Also restoring data from backups is easy, you can restore an entire disk, separate partitions or only files you need from the previously created backup image.

Features:
1.Experience the perfect backup and recover solution for Windows desktops and laptops
2.Back up files, folders, operating systems, or an entire hard disk
3.Store backups in any location - internal, external, network, FTP, optical media and more
4.Use Smart Backup options to have the program use the best method of backup based on data types
5.Quickly and easily recover your data in the event of a catastrophic loss
6.Useful extras: boot corrector, simple partitioning and more
7.Support for the latest HDD standards: AFD (Advanced Format Drive), 2TB+ and non-512B sector size 8.drives.
9.Professional Recovery tools
10.After you purchase you will receive a download link to install the software

good stuff, I have used their partition tool to successfully copy Windows from one disk to another and fix up boot etc, and it was effortlessly easy.

How does this version differ from Backup & Recovery 14 Free Edition? I'm struggling to find a comparison on their website.

Great question, there is at least one difference which is the UEFI fixup in Windows which is not available for the FREE edition. Read the manuals and compare the differences, I posted a link for the Home edition on the OP's post.

Has anyone checked this out thoroughly? I installed it, backed up my boot disc, and then wondered how I would restore it... As far as I can see, if you need to restore your boot disc (i.e. Windows is not available), then you need a bootable version of Paragon (on CD, USB) to do the job. This would normally be created by running the Paragon Recovery Media Builder add-on - but I can't see this anywhere! Anyone have any ideas? The product is not much use to me if I have no way of restoring a boot disc...

Thanks for this. CDs, DVDs and BD discs seem to be made bootable. Though I haven't tried it yet, just going by what it says in the settings. Though there is that 200 page manual at the bottom of the main post, maybe that will help.
