Great FULL VERSION Games FREE for everyone!

For the next two weeks, you’ll have unlimited access to all of our PlayPack games. Play whatever you want, for as long as you want. But do it now while the Free Beta lasts!

Play free now! Just sign in and select “OnLive PlayPack Beta” under My Games.

PERSONALLY, you wouldn't expect amazing graphics, but for a low end computer like mine, it doesn't use a lot of memory and the gameplay is very smooth. I'm currently using Be Broadband and you will be able to sign up and play from the UK. Let me know what you guys think.

OnLive PlayPack Beta includes the following FULL VERSION GAMES:
Alien Shooter
Defense Grid Gold
F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin
Frontline: Fuel of War
King’s Bounty: Armored Princess
LEGO Batman
NBA 2K10
Ninja Blade
Prince of Persia
Puzzle Chronicles
Saw
Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X.
Tomb Raider: Underworld

Nice 1 OP!

Hmm, I can create an account, log in but then can'[t connect to their servers. Checked Windows 7 firewall and my router to make sure nothing is blocking UDP traffic. Maybe their servers are down at the moment?

Anyway, thanks for the post. I'll try again later.
#7
Nice, actually kind of works pretty well :)
#8

The client connects to OnLive servers via:
TCP port 443
UDP ports 16384-16640

You need at least 5 megabits
#12
be careful if you have capped internet as i think it streams at 1gb per hour, well thats just off the top of my head.

I might be wrong but just a heads up to check
#13
nice find, cheers OP :)
#14
Downloaded and played have a 6/7 mb didnt like the lag and the quality wasnt the best. Would prefer buying an actual console and buying the game (which you can then resell in the future).
#15
looks good, but doubt it will run on my uni internet connection...

5 is recommened - people even say thats laggy
3 is minimum, well thats what they say, not for me

I've got 50MB connection still says it get's network problems, but still seems to work.
Can get a little laggy when a lot is happening on the screen, also the quality isn't the best.

That's because this service is intended for the USA only (at the minute). Latency is the issue here and that's it.

Non the less, heat added. I oddly enough did download this about 2 days ago but just messed around with the 30 minute free trial of Assassin's creed 2 as I forgot the beginning anyway.

Hot for those that can achieve the connetion requirements. Unfortunatly that doesn't include me.
#20

It's hardly comparable to normal multiplayer requirements.

To be honest I'm surprised it works half as well as it does, and if I only had a crappy PC at home I'd be pretty much blown away.
#24
Just installed it, absolutely crap! Keeps on saying I have network connection problems although I have a 20mb internet connection. Graphics is rubbish!

Did you just read anything of what the program tells you! LATENCY != CONNECTION SPEED
#26
This is currently US only (although there is a small UK trial happening at the moment)
Your latency issues are down to the servers you have access to at the moment, being in the US.
Those playing in closer proximity to the US servers are having a MUCH better experience.

Personally I think it's very impressive given we're using US servers.

Looking forward to the official UK release
I'm glad they don't block non US address's, nice to see the service early :)

Old now, but have a look here:
http://blog.onlive.com/2010/05/13/onlive-coming-to-europe/

Been playing Metro 2033 using a Xbox 360 control bad, no set-up just worked and on my old PC it's very impressive. I also like that the saves are stored by them so I can play on other PC's
#27
I wish this was here in time for Deus Ex, my PC just isn't up to it!
More info on the UK launch would be nice
#28
It uses about 2-2.5GB of data per hour by the way.

I guess you'll need Grade A connection to play it smoothly :p

http://www.pingtest.net/result/32352631.png

and a Grade B connection to Virginia (That's where the closest data centre is located)

That's a pretty poor test result tbh.
#33
That's some mighty high jitter you have there; especially for cable. I recommend separating your modem/router from the rest of your electrics.
#34
World of Goo is awesome
#35
Nice post. OnLive isn't fully supported in the UK (yet). BT are getting onboard and apparently some TV some manufacturers are going to embed OnLive.

No problems connecting and playing via my 8MB O2 Broadband but won't work at on my girlfriends Orange connection.
#36
Anyone had any luck getting it running on Linux? I can get the app to launch under wine but keep getting a512 error.

Looks like I need the latest version of cedega.

Does that really help? I don't understand why it would, isn't network packet jitter purely a routing/network issue?

Cable works on power strength. Sometimes you can have good download speed but can have noise and that's what your doing by splitting it.
#39
based in us = lag over 100ms always
fail for us UK res's until its over here but amazing thing, future of gaming!

Oh, so this is a ground loop problem then (I was thinking about a cheap bit of bursty network hardware somewhere on the route). I've never had cable and didn't realise this was an issue. Thanks for the clarification
