Came across this charity set up to get free tennis in all park tennis courts nationwide.
All you need to do is put in your post code and it tells you where your nearest free courts are or your nearest coaching times. Its for kids and adults.

What they say..

We work with schools, tennis clubs and local authorities throughout the UK giving children, young people and families the chance to learn and play tennis for 50 weeks of the year FOR FREE (as part of our free coaching programme).

We've also profiled every public park tennis court in the UK, and, those that are FREE, are listed on this website to enable you to find your nearest free tennis courts, allowing you to just turn up and enjoy a game.

Thank You
I live opposite this park, great in the summer to play

edit : The video on the link is where I play  I've played with some of the people in the video and recongnise a few. The black (sorry no other description) man and boy are father and son, he's strict and starts shouting at him and make sure he gets something right before they leave, ott if you ask me, but he is good.

The new courts shown are way too small and the wrong surface so hardly anybody likes using them, the older courts are big and great for free.
One again if you live in the south you can also get a proper coaching session  nearest one to us is 83 miles away, im rubbish at tennis

they arent very good and over packed with people so its just a general lesson to everyone. Best just playing with someone and you'll get better
Ha ha, I wondered when people would cotton onto this scheme!

I work for the council, and we aren't allowed to publicise it incase it takes paying customers away from the other courts :-o

But I know for a fact, that a political party is going to put this in their manifesto for the local elections - I won't say where I work but tennis is very important to us ;-)
