Do you have to buy the controller app?

I am guessing there isn't much point I. this if I have a vita? Got my ps4 yesterday.

The app can't even find my ps4.

mine worked but it only acts as a controller but also shows the screen, would prefer if I could only see the screen and use my normal controller

Having problems forwarding ports on my home hub 3 ffs.

Does this actually work and will it allow me to play the ps4 viewing the screen on my tablet and using my dualshock 4?

Not unless you have a 8-10" tablet tbh.

The app just keeps searching for the PS4, probably because I don't have the ports open now I'm on Lollipop. Struggling with the home hub.

Im using my Z3 so no need for rooting but it works exceptionally well with the DS4 connected through Bluetooth. I was getting connection issues to start with but turning location services off on the Z3 certainly helped.

I didn't have to faf opening ports on the router or anything although my PS4 is wired so that should help with the connection.

check out the work around for using a ds4 . I would imagine more will come too.

no but root is required if you want the offical controller app to work.

if you have set up secondary accounts on your ps4 and you want to use this as an alternate screen in your home you can just use the controller like normal, as long as its within range of your ps4.

If you cant find your system try pairing it on your ps4 in remote play settings.

Also to make things work smoother disable in remote play settings on your ps4 the addhoc ( remote play without a router setting )

I don't have a secondary account no. Just primary. I just want to use my tablet as a second screen and use the dualshock within range of the console. How do I set this up then?

Steps:Create a Secondary PSN Account on your PS4 and log in.Sing in to the Remote Play App with theSecondary PSN Account. In the Remote Play App go to Settings > Change PS4 to Connect To.When Connecting via the Internet click on Skipand use the code in PS4 > Remote Play Connection Setting > Add Device(Still on youSecondary PSN Account)Once connected, disconnect. Now in your PS4 sing out of your Secondary PSN Account and sing into your Primary PSN Account.Go back to the Remote Play App and sing out of your Secondary PSN Account and sign in to yourPrimary PSN Account. In the Main Remote Play App Screen tap on Nextto connect.Done!!! Have fun!!!With this method the DualShock 4 Controller wont even disconnect from the PS4. After you done this steps once, you don't need to do them again, just turn on your PS4and sing in to your Primary PSN Account and in theRemote Play App click Next (In the main Screen) to connect, and you will be able to use the DualShock 4 Controler without problems.

Note: This only works with Local Remote Play as its limited by the range of the DualShock 4 Controller(to the PS4).

Thanks. So why do you need to set up a secondary account I don't get it? Can you delete it afterwards?

I just installed the app but it can't find the PS4? Think I need to add ports to my home hub which I'm not happy about...
#17
you need the second account so when your controller logs in it won't disconnect the remote play.

Can't get it to connect to my s4

Works a treat on my Samsung Note 10.1, this kind of eliminates PS TV now if you have a mhl connector.

NOTE FOR LOLLIPOP USERS:
It seems remote play has issues connecting to the PS4 on Lollipop, in order to fix this you must forward the correct ports on your router
TCP 9295
TCP 9293
UDP 9296-9297

I tried that, unless I'm doing that wrong?

Do you assign the ports to the ps4 or the tablet?

Using a home hub.

i would imagine the tab, but it would not hurt to assign to both :)

another use would be to use your phone as a second controller!

yeah that looks right, just for test purposes have you tried to enable dmz, obviously this will knock the firewall out of your router so you will want to re-enable it
