Music Week reports:
"Prince will once more give away his new album for free with a national newspaper, after agreeing a deal with the Daily Mirror and Daily Record.

More than 2.5m copies of 20Ten will be given away with the two papers on Saturday July 10, the only place in the UK and Ireland where the album will be available at that time.

To coincide with the promotion, the papers will run an interview with the artist, as well as a series of Prince-themed features.

Kiran Sharma of Kikit, Princes representative and producer of his live shows, says, The Most Beautiful Girl In The World in 1995 was Princes first number one selling single as a completely free artist.

Fifteen years on, Prince is demonstrating that in 2010 it is still possible for artists to work in an independent and innovative capacity, highlighted here in a world first of delivering the new album across multiple territories, through complementary distribution channels.

Prince gave away his previous album, Planet Earth, with the Mail On Sunday in 2007."

"Prince will be performing the summer festivals in Denmark, Belgium and France throughout July. The Roskilde Festival - Denmark, 4 July. Main Square Festival - Arras, France, 9 July. Werchter Boutique - Belgium, 10 July: Roskilde and Werchter two of the five biggest annual European music festivals."

Shame he's not coming here as well. Mind you we had 21 nights at the O2 in 2007 so can't be too upset.

Gosh I didn't realise Prince had so many fans left and they are all on one board :)

Got the last freebie and went to see him in the O2 a couple of years ago. Thoroughly let down by both. The concert was the worst I'd ever been to, he played very little of his old/classic material in favour of the newer, lesser known stuff and the security regarding phones and cameras was ridiculous!

......will probably still give this freebie a try though - thanks OP.

It's always a dilema for artists with a large back catalogue to try and please everybody.

I attend loads of gigs every month and attended three of Prince's O2 gigs and I personally found them to be some of the best I've seen. Here's my list for June. Yes the security/photo restrictions were OTT but the gigs themselves were great both visually and musically.

What was it about the free CD that you got from the show that disapointed?

I really enjoyed seeing him at the O2, thought he played a good mix of old and new! Wasn't too keen on the album, but as usual, it was good live!

Will def grab this one too! Cheers OP!

The Indigo shows weren't free but great value at £31.21..I think the last night he played 4 hours solid.

Have to disagree with the poster that said he didn't play his hits, I thought the shows were well balanced, you have to try and please everyone..being an obsessed fan myself I prefer the none hits.
