Welcome to Prominence Poker, a game that pits players from around the world against each other--and devious AI--to build the rep, prestige, and bankroll needed to be, and beat, the best of the best.

Rich World

Set in the city of Prominence, a gambling Mecca founded by crooked folks looking to go straight, players will face down four
factions as they play their way solo to a final showdown with "The Mayor"--the mysterious town founder who will guide the
player through their career.

Robust Community

Beyond solo play, gamblers will find a deep multiplayer experience with regularly scheduled events, daily challenges, tournaments, ranked modes, and even more as the game evolves over time.

Great find OP.

Note that this is a pre-order (£0.00 taken from account), game is released on 16th August 2016.

Here's 10 minutes of gameplay from the PC version.

I'm sure there will be microtransactions later.
Call me cynical but I don't believe companies make games for free from the goodness of their heart.
I wish they had to disclose planned paid content in the game description.

505 games, the publishers, also publish Hawken, Battle Isles and Battle Ages; which all have microtransactions and the last two have massive grinds.

Pipeworks, the developer, also did World Series of Poker, which was a massive grind and had the servers shut down after just 18 months.

Read into those what you will :{

Curious as to why people would prefer this over real money sites like Pokerstars?

I'm just curious.

I play real money on my PC but would never consider playing poker on a console. Consoles are great for shooters as you say but board games and card games they just don't work.

Playing against an AI would also put me off as I know I'd crush it.

Would anyone play real money on a console?

Just thinking out loud btw.

not just ai you do play real against real people,i enjoyed WSOP on the 360 some ppl play money for matchsticks in real life, some are not gamblers but still enjoy playing the game. Now if there was a game to see who could down a pint the fastest then i would be in the pub for real.

It could make for a good degree subject for someone.

I've mates that play Zynga poker on Facebook but would never play freeroll poker on a real money site. I've one mate who spent £50 on Zynga chips but would never play on the sites I play. Bit of a dilemma as you can win real withdrawable money on the real money sites for zero risk.

This free to play model must actually work. I'm curious as to why it works.

Uno is coming out again as so many wanted it.

Maybe people just like playing poker/card games without the risk of losing money.
