Why would you want to scan a barcode anyway?

download to replace the other free one, but I now ask myself why they both scan barcodes! heat :)

I downloaded it few weeks back, it was free again. very good scanner, scans even strange barcodes as the ones on your flight boarding card.

True true, lol.

On a similar note, does anyone remember the Barcode Battler's Handheld Game thingy?, came out like about 20 Years+ or so now? (very cool little things!). :-)

I think I still have my Barcode Battler somewhere.

As for the QR codes I've only ever encountered one time when I needed to scan one.

There is an burger place in Hong Kong that you need to scan the menu via QR, called the Butchers Club.

Because this app is bloody awful at scanning QR codes!
Mine only manages to do it right about once in ten uses.
I suppose that the fact it retrieves the same wrong information at each attempt is to it's credit though! ...and yes, this same app was "free" less than a month ago when I had the misfortune to stumble across it.:(

When setting up software based MFA (multi factor authentication) for use with Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator etc. or on a number of web sites such as Google, Amazon etc. they usually present a QR code to scan to set up the token. Probably my main use case. As someone else pointed out in the thread, Android 7 has this by default now without the need for a separate app such as this.
