Radio 1 Big Weekend

The biggest free concert in Europe they do every May

19th and 20th May 2007 in Preston

Lineup yet to be revealed, but is usually quite good.

Tickets I believe are posted to the address you register with.
But the local people of the area where the Weekend is taking place gets priority, so in this case anyone from Preston will get priority over someone not in Preston but I don't think all tickets are reserved for them only but the majority are I think.

For now you can only register your interest which is worth doing should you not remember later.

Come the end of April you will be e-mailed as to when you can fully register your details to apply for a ticket.

Ah good point, I'll leave it to mods to decide then.
#8
Up to you, do you want it spammed and redo it at a later date?
#9
I was handing over responsibility for a reason, don't ask me! :-D,

Lock the thread and let it pass away till April I think :)

whats the odds a load of them end up on ebay.

We had the one big weekend up here in the North East a couple of years ago and as usual people who desperately wanted a ticket had it spoiled for them by people who wanted to make a profit out of a FREE ticket. Even though they had no intention of going themselves in the first place.
#11
Glastonbury is making people upload photos on their ticket orders/registers.

Hopefully alot of people will be following this lead.
#12
Great. Its up north again. It has never been south of Birmingham before (except Cardiff which isnt exactly near London!)
#13
Thanks for this. Have signed up to their mailing list to be notified when tickets are available. I am very near Preston so this is fantastic for me.
#14
Might as well leave it open then :) With all the interest ;-)
#15
Am near preston and have friends in preston so sounds great to me. Will try to remember this nearer the time

Woo, its about time something happened in Preston!

Dunno what you southerners are moaning about, practically everything else happens down there anyway.

Awwww, couldnt you do with a break???

All work and no play....

I went to this when it was in Sunderland a couple of years ago, had a fantastic weekend of gigs! We had to queue very early on a saturday to get the tickets, so many people were turned away! We managed to swap 2 of the extra tickets for 2 sunday tickets aswell so it was perfect!!
#21
How many tickets does it give out to each person???

It is in Preston and I am in Edinburgh so I would have to stay overnight there and would not get back in time for the exam

Interesting point, I would image Hotel prices for that weekend will have sky rocketed because of this.

I never thought of that.

No such issue here, I know a few people who live in the city who wont mind me crashing :P

Assuming I get tickets :(
#26
'bout an hour and a half to Preston for me, might be worth it though :)
#27
I highly recommend people who live outside the Preston area to try and blag someone you know/might know in Preston into applying :)

I'm just praying that my PR postcode nets me some tickets, or I'll be absolutely gutted :\

It should, I wonder if people are trusting enough on HUKD forums to possibly cartel together with people in Preston for tickets ;-)
#30
Can't believe we're getting something like this in Preston. Great news.
Sooooooo, all you people who want me to try get them tickets, start the bidding.... :giggle:
#31
It's about time something happened round here; Preston seems constantly ignored (some people'd say there's a good reason for that!!!). And for those moaning about it being oop North, don't forget nearly every other festival ends up down south.

Again though I know people who're looking at getting tickets and ebaying them. Shame cos there's enough of my mates who'd go to this

There has to be something R1 can do to stop the Ebay touts. Surely they can just ask Ebay to not allow the tickets (and make sure people know they wont be able to sell them)...
#33
I live about 45minutes away from Preston, but friend lives there. Wont be going myself but will tell her about it
#34
Tickets are now available HERE
#35
Thanks just done, had forgotten!
#36
Signed up fingers crossed! :w00t:

Worth a shot only round the corner
#38
Anyone heard whether they have got tickets yet? http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/aktion/action-smiley-002.gif
#39
No, not yet but the one email I did receive said that last year they had over 250000 applications for 15000 pairs of tickets - I think my daughter will be out of luck but still it is worth a try.
#40
500,000 applications this time. I'm not holding my breath to get them today. But if I don't I will be entering the air guitar competition to win some. http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/party/party-smiley-017.gif
